My wife and I stayed here for one night and we would never go back. When we
returned to our room following our night out our key to the room would not work.
Thinking this was no big deal I went to the front desk for another. This key
didn't work and neither did the three next keys I was given. So after walking up
and down the stairs numerous times while my wife waited in the hall, security
finally came up and their key didn't work. We had to sit outside the room for
over an hour in the middle of the night. When we finally got in, there was a
leak and our clothes were damaged. How did management resolve this? They didn't!
We were not refunded our money, there was no offer to dry clean the clothes and
we had to spend the night in a smelly, musty room. We were appalled by the level
of service and would never return to this hotel again.
Hotel Review of the Pacific Inn Hotel White Rock

I had the misfortune of staying a night at the "Pink Palace" which has been one
of the few hotels in South Surrey for many years. I had never been in the hotel
before, but had heard that in it's early years it was very nice and used
extensively for small conferences and local meetings.
My first impression when I walked through the front doors was that this was a
very tired hotel and it was obvious nothing had been done to update it for along
time ... if ever. The front desk staff were not particularly inviting or
welcoming, and while I was processed quick enough the limited conversation ended
there, and no further courtesies or offers of assistance were made.
My room was along a corridor which featured worn and in some cases thread bare
carpets ... and now the real interesting part .... all of the rooms had pairs of
sports shoes, socks and shin guards laying in the hall drying. Kind of reminds
you of opening a sports bag of sweaty gear that's been sitting in your car trunk
for 2 weeks. Seems there was a field hockey tournament in Surrey that week and
the out of town teams staying in the hotel thought it best to stink up the hall
with their smelly gear, and the hotel was fine with it. When I mentioned this to
the front desk people, all I got was a blank stare and a "we'll look into it".
Now once I navigated the sports gear and entered my room, it was clean enough
but the light switches on the floor & table lamps were mickey moused and the
window curtains were stuck and couldn't be closed. The mattress had seen better
days and was a tad lumpy.
Later that evening I attended a reception at the hotel in one of the bigger
conference room, which I gather had been a club at one time. The windows were
filthy, the door frame broken and I hadn't even got into the room yet. The
floors and table cloths were dirty and it was apparent that not a dime was being
spent on the hotel or the maintenance of the facilities.
When I departed the next morning I heard the chamber staff complaining about the
stink from the shoes and socks in the hall and one was even wearing a mask !!
I would not recommend anyone stay at this hotel until it is updated and I
certainly have no plans of ever staying there again.Hotel Review of the
Pacific Inn Hotel White Rock

We just got back from a weekend at the Pacific Inn. We went down there for a
family wedding, which was taking place just down the street. When we arrived and
looked around the lobby/pool area, the hotel seemed quite nice. Our opinion
changed when we saw our room. Normally I wouldn't be too bothered by these sort
of things, but the hotel does cost 140$ a night, and I expect much better
quality for that price.
Aside from the problem with the rooms, we were all disappointed by the lack of
customer service at this hotel.
We actually had a really awesome weekend, because it was great to see the whole
family and get together and party, etc. But I think it could have been much
nicer if we were staying in a nicer hotel. Overall, I would have happily paid
80-90 dollars for a room in this hotel, because that is what it is worth. 140$
is far too much.
