Hotel Review of the Ocean Promenade Hotel White Rock

Be forewarned, if you get a Double Queen room and not a Suite, you will have
some other guests balcony right in front of your room/window (the double Queens
have no balconies of their own). This was okay as we got a fairly cheap booking
on here, but I don't know if I would have been happy had a paid full price.
Also, it would have been nice knowing about this before walking into the room.
But it is a very nice hotel in a great spot!

Stayed for a week on business and got a great corporate rate on a suite with a
view. What a fantastic location. The suites are well appointed and very
comfortable, too. Overall great stay.
Oh, and it's so clean you can practically eat off the concrete in the sparkling
parking garage even.Hotel Review of the Ocean Promenade Hotel White Rock

We stayed at this wonderful place for 5 nights last October when my
mother-in-law passed away. So many family members came that there was not room
to accommodate us all at the house, so my family chose to stay here. We were not
sorry. Check in was warm and friendly. We had arrived late to the airport and
had quite a drive in the rain to get to White Rock. We were emotionally and
physically tired, but seeing our room gave us an instant lift. We chose the
two-bedroom suite which was perfect for our older (early 20's) daughters and our
7 year old son. There was more than enough room for all of us with the two
bedrooms and pull-out sofa, 2 1/2 baths, large fully-stocked kitchen, beautiful
sitting area and private balcony. There were three fireplaces and three large
flat-screen televisions as well. Our only disappointment initially was that we
were on the ground floor, but the very first morning my husband spoke to the
desk clerk and we were promptly moved to higher ground and beautiful views. The
beds were very comfortable and we felt like we were at home away from home
during a very difficult time. All staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
We hope to return here someday under happier circumstances.

I stayed here for Valentines Day and couldn't have been happier. I took the
train to Vancouver and when it went thru White Rock I was intrigued by the
seaside town with little shops and outdoorsy setting. I spent one nite and was
given a corner room with a window open to the sea. Watching bald eagles catch
fish outside my window even in the middle of winter was a fun experience. I did
not get a 'suite' but walked by one and they were great with kitchens and lr's
etc. I got a queen room and while it didn't have a lot of amenities the bedding
and accommodations were very nice. Free Parking, free internet were all very
nice. In summer or in better weather the ability to walk along the water would
have been nicer but for a quick getaway this hotel filled the bill quite nicely.
I'd recommend the hotel to anyone wanting an option for a getaway or as a
Vancouver option.

I stayed at the Ocean Promenade during the 2010 Olympics. The staff was very
helpful and the room was very clean. The room overlooked the ocean and had it's
own private balcony. My favorite part was the heated floor in the bathroom. The
room was nice enough and the location was perfect; I could've stayed there for
three days and been completely happy.
The hotel is just a few steps from the ocean. Right across the street is a fun
little bar and just a little further down the strip are several quaint little
restaurants. Most of them were closed because it was February. I would love to
go back and take full advantage of the hotel in the summer.
The one downside was I stayed in the cheapest room and the bed was a pull-out
couch bed. This was my own fault though. Next time I would upgrade to really
maximize my stay.

My sister and brother-in-law traveled with my husband and I on our first visit
to Canada. white Rock is only 5 minutes over the border of Washington. What a
cute, quaint town! we instantly liked the town with the shopping, promenade and
lots of dining. We decided to stay two nights instead of staying in Vancouver,
although we took a great day trip there.
The room fit our needs great as the one bedroom suite was a good price,
especially split between two couples. It has 2 queen beds in one room, a full
size kitchen, living room and a dining room table and 4 chairs. It even had 1
1/2 bathrooms which sealed the deal for us! we will go back. The Hotel is
decorated with all new bedding, furnishings and state of the art appliances,
including dishwasher and granite countertops.
I think the front desk could also be a little more informed of the town as well.
And we wish they would have mentioned the little coffee shop as we completely
missed it until check out.
Al in all though good value for the money.
I will look at B and B's and compare if we can return one day. |
