Whistler Creekside |
Whistler Creekside
At the bottom of the Dave Murray Downhill run lies Whistler Creekside, the
original development of Whistler. Only five minutes drive to the main village,
the Creekside has seen some exciting changes in the last few years. Many
visitors who are returning to Whistler know that Whistler Creek is close enough
to all the action in the village to still be convenient but far enough away to
be able to escape it at will.
The Creekside Gondola serves Whistler Mountain, and is considered a local
favourite. Never as crowded as the Village gondola, the Creekside Gondola will
whisk you up Whistler Mountain as quickly as possible to give you first access
to our great powder skiing!

Consistently ranked one of the top ski resorts in North America, the Whistler
Resort welcomes more than two million visitors each year. It has extensive
experience hosting FIS World Cup competitions. The men’s downhill course for the
2010 Olympic Winter Games – the Dave Murray Downhill – is a very well-respected
and challenging course. The women’s downhill course for 2010 is Franz’s Run. All
Paralympic alpine skiing events will also take place on Franz’s Run.
Whistler Creekside after the 2010 Olympics will continue to offer a world-class
ski area to recreational skiers and will be a site for future international
competitions and Canadian team training.
The alpine skiing schedule follows the traditional Olympic calendar of speed
events such as downhill, Super G and super combined in the first week to allow
for weather contingencies. The second week will include technical events such as
slalom and giant slalom. |
