We recently went up to Whistler to go snowboarding for the weekend so we only
stayed there one night. We arrived Friday afternoon around 4:30 pm and Check-in
was fine because check-in time is at 4pm. We did have to pay for parking, but
you have to pay for parking EVERYWHERE in Whistler during the ski/boarding
season.... it was $19 to park until the next day 4pm. I thought it was
ridiculous! but... you have to pay... because there's no overnight parking at
the larger lots during the Winter.....at least that's what we've been told and
we didn't want to get towed...
The room was nice and big (two Queen size beds) we only needed one..but 99.9% of
the rooms in Whistler are two beds with a small kitchenette. It was very clean
and cozy, with a nice 32" flat screen tv... We just snuggled up and enjoyed a
movie for the evening....
The Service was good, we didn't use room service or anything....but our floor
was loud, cause there's a lot of young people around having parties/friend trips
etc ... but it didn't bother us too much...
The Location is in Upper Village, and it's about a 5-10 min walk to the main
village, which is good cause we needed to walk off all the food we ate! lol

Stayed in a 2 queen bed room with a balcony. Rooms were decent size with
extremely comfortable beds and pillows. The showers were really hot, and there
was a small balcony attached to the bedroom. Friendly helpful hotel staff who
had great recommendations on activities when asked. Happily gave us a late
checkout. Definitely would stay again

We went to stay here for a nice relaxing night without the kids, and as soon as
we checked in we had leave because of an emergency with our kids. The staff said
it wasn't a problem the we checked out right away, and we would not be charged
for the night. I asked to make sure that there would be no charge, so the
receptionist called the manager and she confirmed there would not be.
I get my credit card bill today and there is the full charge!! I called and the
manager right away and she said that they were in fact charging us in full.
This is terrible service, I would not recommend this place to anyone!!! After
they get your money they treat you like crap!

Spent 2 nights there, the room was clean and comfy, and the service was really
good. Enjoyed the complimentary wine at the restaurant. Had troubles with
internet in the lobby and it was expensive.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times now, always during the summer time. As a
bike rider, I liked the location of this hotel, close to trails. There is a safe
area to store your bike when not in use, and lockers available, key card access.
The room was comfortable, quiet and clean, and on our last stay, we upgraded and
had a great room with mountain views and 2 balconies. This hotel is just off the
main walkway through town, close enough to be everywhere, far enough away to be
peaceful. The pool is in back, and is surrounded by tall fir trees. This hotel
was pet friendly, and at the time of our stay, there were at least 5 dogs
staying, and we never heard a single bark! Parking is available for a fee, but
the upper lot is a short walk away, and free.

Beautiful lobby, very nice room; given an automatic room upgrade upon arrival.
Great location: directly across the street from a supermarket and Starbucks.

Felt a little old for this place - seemed to be mainly Mountain Bikers. Hotel
staff were a mixed bunch - first reception was bored and let us know it and
wasn't helpful. The rest of the staff were very good. Room was well equipped but
very small. There was a balcony which had one chair on it. I thought one was
missing but soon realised that there wasn't enough room for two chairs! Good
area for walking - unfortunately weather not too good when we were there. If you
do nothing else eat at the Mongolian Restaurant it was an amazing experience and
the food was excellent too. beware if parking in the underground parking lot the
spaces are very tight.

We stayed at the Summit for one night and found it to be Ok for our needs. We
did not stay in the room for much of our stay which was good because it was very
small for the three of us. The pull out bed was not very comfortable but the bed
was. I did use the pool and hot tub. They were both very small but I was the
only one there so it worked well for me. I would recommend this hotel for any
more than two people because of the size of the room. The location is very good
because it is close proximity to the mountain.

Got to summit lodge after a six hour scenic drive from Clearwater near Wells
Gray Provincial Park. On arrival check in staff were courteous and helpful,
except when they mentioned that there was no long stay public parking in
Whistler and that we would have to pay C$18 per night for parking underneath the
lodge! After expressing my dissatisfaction we proceeded to our allocated room
and upon entering found that it was already occupied by someone else who had
decided to stay extra days. After storming off back down to reception to
complain a witch hunt took place and it seems housekeeping had released the room
by mistake. The receptionist could not be more apologetic and as a result gave
us complimentary parking for our stay. Result! The rooms were very modern and
well appointed. each had its own kitchen area and balcony, ours had a nice
mountain view, though some just face the street. The location was great as was
just on the outskirts of the main village area but an easy walk to all the shops
and action , it also had Spa facilities though we didn't use them so can't
comment.. Being a lodge with suites, there was no restaurant so we did have to
search for our meals, though there are plenty of place to choose from, but
people staying longer might make more of the kitchen facilities. An enjoyable
stay in a great location would definitely come back again.

This is a no frills boutique hotel and loved that we were able to easily book
for just one night in Whistler. We took the Mountaineer train up that morning
and this was one of the drop off locations. A little tucked away from the main
hustle of the Village Center and Mountain bases, it was close and convenient to
amenities (liquor store, groceries, shops, etc).
The hotel boasts a wonderful looking Taman Sari Spa, and offers a Tapas
lounge/bar however, we opted to go to Blue Highways Shiatsu/Massage clinic
across the street in a commercial building. Reasonably priced and we were able
to book in last minute. (Best shiatsu ever by Hiroshi Aoki! I will have to go
back to Whistler to see him again!)
Our room was super clean, roomy, modern, huge soaker tub (lovely!!) and private
patio.
Only complaint and nothing to do with hotel is that It is kind of noisy because
across the street, on the other side of the buildings, there's a lot of
construction going on so you hear the squeaking/engines early in the morning.
Outdoor pool is small, hot tub had weak jets, and the place could've offered
more lawn chairs for guests. (there was only 3 or 4 and the rest were patio
chairs and table, otherwise, it was nice having a treed area to look out to.

This was my first trip to Whistler, BC and all I can say is WOW! I will be back.
I had no idea how much there is to do in the summer. The place is breathtakingly
beautiful with tons to do for active, outgoing families.
The hotel was absolutely perfect in every way. We found all of the staff to be
friendly and helpful. We got upgraded to a larger room on the 2nd floor. It even
had a small kitchenette, microwave, fridge, etc. It also had a fireplace and a
small outside balcony.
We brought a dog with us and they welcomed him by putting his name up on the
board when we checked in. How cute is that? The second floor is the dog floor
although it was very clean and I never smelled any pet odors at all. In fact, I
never heard another dog even bark.
I actually liked the location of this hotel as it was a little quieter than some
of the other places our friends were staying at a little closer to the inner
village. It's very close to the grocery store, Starbucks and Circle K
convenience store (it might have been 7-11). The pasta place across the street
we were told was wonderful although we never made it.
The only negative was the parking...$20 a day underground but parking is a pain
anywhere you go in Whistler.
They also offer free WIFI...most places were charging.

We stayed at Summit Lodge for a couple of nights as part of our Canada holiday,
and found it a very pleasent experience. We seemed to have dropped-in between
the peak Winter and Summer holiday times, but even so Whistler seemed fairly
lively. Summit Lodge however is in a quieter area of the village, so we were not
unduly disturbed. Parking in Whistler is a pain - you either park outside the
village for free, or pay through the nose - we parked at Summit Lodge for $20
per night, over twice as much as central Vancouver! Our room was on the top
floor and overlooked the Main Street, and had all the necessary appointments
including TV, aircon, etc. What we had not expected was the kitchenette, which
allowed us to use the convenient local grocery store for our own meals as
required. Whistler has lots of bars and eateries, but when you are on a long
holiday some variety is nice. The fixtures and fittings in the room were
beginning to look a bit hammered, but I suppose that's to be expected for a
winter sports resort. Summit Lodge was a very nice stay, and we would definitely
recommend it.
One word of warning, and nothing at all to do with Summit Lodge. The whole of
Whistler and its surrounding area is at present one huge building site, in
preparation for the 2010 Winter Olympics. There are major road works on the Sea
to Sky Highway, which have very poor marking and traffic management, making
driving difficult. In Whistler itself there are lots of building projects,
resulting in clouds of dust and sand all over. It won't last for ever, but I
expect the rest of 2009 will be blighted.

This hotel is very nice. The interior design has a very "ski lodge" feel, and is
quite west coast. The staff was so great to our dog, and there is no extra
charge for their stay, which made us feel quite welcome with him. The room was
cozy and had a gas fireplace which warmed us up. A nice highlight:
cheetah-pattern robes. Apparently each room has a different kind of robe - no
boring white ones here, it seems. The pool was small but functional and the hot
tub has trees over it, and we liked that.

I found this hotel on the web, choose it as it looked nice and was in my price
range. I read the reviews and had a concern about the front desk staff and dogs
staying there. Well I did not have to worry about that...this hotel was
excellent. Dogs are welcomed but stay on the 2nd floor...only saw one, several
were staying. the front desk staff was excellent. They dealt with a noise
problem from two families that were letting their kids run wild. It was dealt
with very quickly and effectively. Our room was great, quiet and very clean,
staff very helpful. The shuttle was always available and location great. Thank
you for an excellent stay. ...oh yea..Whistler/Blackcomb is awesome... Try the
Ziptrek tour...a bit expensive but well worth rushing through the trees on a
zipline 200 feet up and a great ecotour also...can not say enough good things
about W/Blackcomb

I always get nervous when I book a hotel and then see someone who said, "as much
charm as a Best Western," so I was pleasantly surprised when we walked in the
lobby and there was a great spa smell and a cozy fire going.
Our room was on the 2nd floor and was an Executive Suite. It was spacious,
updated and very clean--and I am very picky about shabby things. Our room just
faced a bunch of trees--so no view--just the hot tub.
Location is great and there is a grocery store across the street which is
convenient and an inexpensive pasta place with great soups for lunch. The
shuttle service was great and they were very nice. We traveled with our 5 yr old
so being close to the village to walk around was key.
Tips: make restaurant reservations. Also, there an affordable and good sushi
place across from the grocery store. The Bavarian restaurant is overpriced.
There was a very nice and cheaper spa around the corner and down the street.
The staff was fine and pleasant. They could have been a little more helpful.
When I was struggling to open the door to the locker rooms to store my snowboard
and skis and had my daughter there--they could have helped--as they clearly saw
me. They also weren't really knowledgeable about things to do--when we asked
about Tubing they really had no idea.
All in all a very pleasant stay

Convenient location to the village
We were greeted by a friendly and informative front desk attendant. Our room was
clean and the accommodations were as expected. The beds were very comfortable.
It was nice having the kitchen and everything worked well. It was great that the
day we checked out we were allowed to leave our car in the garage and pick it up
after we skied. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The staff was very pleasant, particularly the shuttle driver. That was a great
service. The room was perfect for our needs with extras like bathrobes. Very
clean and nicely furnished. I like the idea that it is a dog friendly hotel.
Good location too. Twenty dollars/day for garage parking was a bit steep but
free wireless made up for that.

Overall this is a decent place to stay in Whistler. The location is pretty
central and there is a shuttle service that drops right near the lifts so for
skiing it is very convenient. The shuttle service was really well run too, with
a very courteous and friendly driver. We never had to wait more than a few
minutes and in fact had a private shuttle that left on our schedule in the
mornings!
The rooms are nice, pretty well kept but the one we had was very small. We go to
Whistler for the skiing though, not for the hotel room and as such found this
place more than adequate and will stay here again considering price, location,
and the shuttle service.

I picked the Summit over others (Westin, Delta, etc...) because I've stayed at
the summit about three times over the past five years and was pleased with my
previous stays. In my prior stays, I'd enjoyed the Summit because of it's quiet
location and boutique hotel feel. Well, the quiet location still applies, but
the place has as much character as a Best Western!
The poor housekeeping to the non-chalant attitude of the staff, this place does
not have a hint of the "boutique hotel" feel that it ever was before.

My wife and 2 kids stayed here for 2 nights - 24th and 25th August 2008.
We arrived having taken in the beautiful drive from Vancouver at 11am - far too
early to check in but the lady on the desk offered the underground parking
immediately prior to us formally checking in. At $19 per night plus tax, it's
reasonably expensive but it is very secure with access only by your room card.
We found this excellent. It was also warm down there which will definitely
benefit those travellers who stay at the Summit lodge in Winter.
When we did check in, we were told we had been upgraded to a one bedroom suite.
The room was excellent with great kitchen facilities and a HUGE bed which was
easily the best we slept in whilst on our Rockies tour.
The hotel is centrally located, the front desk staff were good and the room was
serviced to a good standard. We'd DEFINITELY stay at the Summit Lodge again -
the rooms were competitively priced and great value for money.
Whistler was great - we loved it! We did the Zip trek on our second day which we
had pre-booked on the internet before travelling. This was brilliant and well
worth it - would definitely recommend.

Clean and comfortable, nice appointed rooms, with very friendly staff always
happy to answer questions or make recommendations. The location is at the far
end of Whistler Village, so you're about a 10-15 minute walk to the lifts, but
there's so much happening in the town along the Village Stroll that you'll
hardly notice. The only negative: The 4-foot-deep pool is the size of a bathtub.
Definitely recommended.

We just stayed at the Summit Lodge last weekend for 2 days and 2 nights and had
a great time.
The check in staff was very friendly and helpful. When we checked in, we were
offered a complimentary glass at the restaurant connected with the hotel.
(Element) We also had a few questions regarding one of the activities we had
booked and they called the company for us to ask those questions. I also forget
my glasses in my room, and luckily they were found by the cleaning staff, and
they offered to mail them to me.
The location of the hotel is great. It is just outside of the main village,
which I didn’t mind because while we were in the main village at night it seemed
to be noisy, and I were staying at a hotel in the village, I would think that
this would become an issue.
We had a room with a pool view, one queen bed and a pull out sofa. The room also
had a mini fridge, microwave, sink, and 2 elements to cook on. The room was a
good size and was very clean. The blanket on the bed was also very comfortable.
We didn’t get cleaning service after our first night as we asked not to, but the
chamber maid was nice enough to give us new towels as we had already used all
the ones we had. (she was in the hall when we were leaving so we just asked)
There is an outdoor pool and hot tube that are about average size along with a
steam room. They close every night at 10pm.
Overall, I was very pleased. I’m they type of person that usually stays in the
Holiday Inn or basic accommodations like that, because for me hotels are just a
place to keep my stuff and rest at night. But as this trip was more of a
relaxing trip, we choose a nicer place, and is probably one of the nicer places
I have stayed at.

The hotel was clean and for the most part quiet.
The room had a kitchenette, which was great as it meant we could cut our costs
by dining in our room a couple of nights.
our room was clean and spacious. It had a electric fire, sofa, hairdryer,
shower, TV and all that general stuff you could want.
It also had a balcony, which springtime onwards would be great to sit out on as
it overlooks the hot tubs and massive pine trees.
Reception does have internet access, but it seemed that kids sat on this all day
long, so we didn't bother trying to use it.
Reception staff were helpful and polite. The underground parking is a bonus,
although there is a small fee for each day you are there.
You are also charged for a newspaper which is put outside your door every
morning, so make sure you tell Reception straight away if you don't want it.
We had an average stay here, although the hotel was above average on
cleanliness.
Unless you are a dude who loves to show off on the slopes, then there is nothing
to do here apart from shop or drink.
So the hotel was fine, but just don't come here unless you're into that kind of
thing.
