We stayed at Nita Lake Lodge, January 23rd 2010 for one night.
We had an early check in and our room was ready and available for us to
dump our bags and go in to Whistler Village. - Just as a rough idea, we
were told that its about 45min walk from the Hotel to Whistler Village,
if you are the walking type of people. - but if not, don't worry as the
Hotel puts on a courtesy shuttle that leaves the hotel on the hour,
every hour. And it drops you off at the Village and its a 2min walk to
the ski lifts. If you want to catch a ride back to the hotel from the
village, just ring the hotel and they will put you on the list for
pick-up, which picks you up from the village at 10 past on the hour,
every hour.
The service was great, we booked a snowmobile fondue trip to the top of
Blackcomb mountain on the Saturday night and the 6pm shuttle was booked,
and we asked if there were any cancellations or no-shows, could they
contact us in our room, so we got a call at 5:50pm thinking we were on
the 6pm shuttle so we could meet for 7pm, but they told us that they
would put on an extra shuttle for us as there was still no room on the
6pm shuttle.
The only disappointing thing for us, was that we didn't stay long enough
at this hotel, it had the whistler charm, and mountain chalet feel that
was warm and cozy with modern wood furniture.
The rooms are great, huge bathrooms by any hotel standards, a neat
little kitchenette with basic needs, plates, bowls, mini fridge,
microwave. It was more than enough for a weekend away. The showers are
huge, lovely and hot! - just what you need after a chilly day in
whistler! The beds are very comfy, and I had the best nights sleep ive
had in about 3 months!!
A definite recommendation from us! - if we could change one thing, it
would be the location, but with the shuttle service its great!!

We stayed at the Nita Lake Lodge just before the Whistler Olympics. The
rooms and the setting are fabulous. Much preferred staying here vs
Whistler Village. Getting back and forth was a bit annoying but we
usually walked and its easy to catch a cab (I hate shuttles).

We stayed with our young son for a family ski trip and had a great time.
Shuttle was very convenient for getting back and forth. Rooms were
great. The food was definitely a highlight, we were pleasantly surprised
at the quality for breakfast and dinner. I absolutely recommend the crab
risotto.
Well worth a stay and even just for dinner if you are staying somewhere
else.

Hotel is amazing. The lake is more like a pond, but it was frozen over
with families and dogs playing on it. Very good holiday sight seeing.
Hotel staff were very friendly and informative. The rooms are beautiful.
The bed was very comfortable. The tub is perfectly sized for a soaking
couple. The bathroom design has inspired me to incorporate it into my
dream house. The suite area is well furnished and romantic. In short,
the hotel room was tough for this couple to leave

Nita Lake is almost a fairytale winter gateway. The hotel is nestled in
the cozy Creekside Village area, very close to the Creekside Gondola (it
actually offers a free locker right next to the Gondola). The hotel is
absolutely gorgeous, combining elegance and modern furnishing with the
cozy feeling of a winter cottage. We had a lake-view room, which comes
with a beautiful fireplace, wood furnishings, and a gorgeous bathroom
that includes both a stand-alone shower and a hot tub. The bathroom
floor has heating, which is wonderful, especially after a full day of
skiing. The lake-view room is worth the extra buck, as it is breath
taking to wake up to the sight of the frozen lake. I can only imagine
how beautiful it is during the summer. The whole place is very romantic,
and great for couples.
I say that this is ALMOST a fairytale place because the hotel has a long
way to go in terms of guest service. First, the front desk is usually
understaffed, and very often our requests were forgotten or ignored (and
surprisingly, no one even apologized for these mishaps). For example,
there was no one to help us with our luggage when we arrived or when we
were leaving. The housekeeping is also not as good as it should be.
Although the room was always relatively clean, it was never vacuumed or
dusted. There was significant dust build-up on the shelves, and this
makes it uncomfortable when you want to unpack. Also, the shuttle runs
at very irregular schedule - only once per hour. This is very
inconvenient, especially since it seats only 7 people and gets filled up
fairly quickly. Whistler Village is 8 minutes away, so it should
definitely run a more regular schedule. The hotel's restaurant is great
for breakfast, but falls below standard for dinner. I mention all of
these minor complaints not to be capricious, but because such a great
hotel truly deserves better guest service. Once it does, it will truly
be a glorious place and we will be there every winter.

Outstanding location, away from the congestion of the village. Beautiful
hotel. Food is excellent. Service was great. I would stay there again.
Excellent hotel! We’ll definitely be back. The rooms are beautiful and
awesome views. The hotel also has lockers available at the base of
Whistler mountain where you can store skiing gear, this was such a
convenience. We have no complaints. Highly recommendable!

We recently stayed at the Nita Lake Lodge for a Saturday night. We
prepaid for the room, and we were amazed at the value of the place! We
walked in the lodge at 9:00 in the morning after taking the SnowBus up
from Vancouver, and the guys at the reception desk were able to give us
a room right away, which we weren't expecting. We were really impressed
with our studio bedroom for the price that we paid (booking directly
through Nita Lake's website). The design was contemporary, but it still
felt like a lodge. We loved the bathroom as well--the tub was perfect
for soaking after a day of skiing. After skiing on Sunday, the shuttle
driver arranged to have keys made for us to go shower in the spa area
before taking our bus back to Vancouver. We couldn't have been happier
with the service provided by the guys at the reception desk.
We took the shuttle to Whistler Village to rent our skis, since I wasn't
confident in my ability to ski down on the Creekside runs. We didn't
have any problems with the shuttle service, but the next time I think
that we'll rent skis from the Can-Ski in Creekside and use the Creekside
Gondola. We were able to walk around the village during the day, so we
didn't feel like we were missing out on anything by staying in Whistler
Creekside.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Nita Lake Lodge and were
impressed by the thoughtful design of the lodge. We would definitely
stay here again!

We spent 3 nights including New Year's Eve at Nita Lake Lodge. It's a
great value. The hotel is located in Whistler Creek which is a charming
smaller village about a 7 min bus ride to Whistler's main village.
Creekside has it's own lift to the mountain and several options for
food, drinks, shopping and equipment rentals.
The hotel has a contemporary lodge design and offers both lake and
mountain view suites of various sizes. We stayed in a one bedroom
mountain view room. It was very clean, comfortable and nicely appointed.
You walk into a mudroom area where you can store your coats, boots etc
without getting the carpets in the living area dirty. There's also a
small kitchenette area complete with sink, microwave and small
refrigerator which proved to be very convenient. The living room had a
big flat screen TV above a gas fireplace. There was a smaller flat
screen TV in the bedroom as well. The Bathroom was especially large with
a separate shower and a huge bathtub.
The hotel staff is friendly. I did feel they needed to work out a few
kinks though which is why I'm giving it a "very good" rating instead of
an "excellent" rating. In our room, the hand receiver on the phone
didn't work. We had to use speaker phone. Also, the DVD player in the
living room was broken. We alerted the front desk and neither were fixed
while we were there. Also, the hotel provides a shuttle to and from
Whistler village. The return to the hotel turned out to be a big mix up.
The 3:10 bus never came, so we had to wait over an hour for the next
bus. Keep in mind it's January and freezing outside. We ended up waiting
in the town's business center, which was fine but not ideal.
The hotel has a few nice options for food. There's a restaurant, bar and
Deli. The restaurant has a great breakfast menu. We also had a very nice
New Year's Eve dinner there. Nearby, I recommend Creek Bread pizza! It's
a family oriented restaurant right around the corner from the hotel with
delicious wood oven pizza.
The rooms have high speed internet, but not wireless. There is wireless
in the lobby and two computers are located in the lobby right next to
the front door. They are not private, so if you have important work or
facebooking to do it's not ideal. However, if you simply need to print
your boarding pass it's fine.
Over all, we had a very nice and relaxing time. I do recommend the
hotel. It seems to be much more affordable than the hotels in the main
village, but equally as nice.

My husband and I visited the Whistler area Sep 28-29 for a short getaway from
the busy lower mainland (BC). We were first interested in staying right in
Whistler Village but found this lakefront lodge and thought we'd try it - good
thing we did! It's a short drive (maybe 5 mins) from the Village and all the
action there, but still removed enough so you have peace and quiet. The lodge
was built about a year ago before the last ski season so everything still looks
very new/modern.
Our room was a 1 bedroom suite on the 2nd floor facing the lake. The 1-bedrm was
actually an alcove with no door from the living room (a floor to ceiling wall
does partially separate the rooms). Everything in the suite was very clean and
well maintained. Huge bathroom with a heated floor and large tub and separate
shower; there were shutters between the bathroom and the bedroom, so you could
actually be sitting in the tub and look thru the bedroom out to the lake. The
lighting in the bathroom isn't the best for applying makeup. Was surprised there
are no drawers to lay any clothes (i.e. things you don't normally hang) in any
furniture in the bedroom or bedroom closet; I always like to unpack the suitcase
completely but for a couple of days it wasn't a big issue for me. The
kitchenette was in a large closet/cupboard and included fridge, microwave,
utensils and dishes - everything you would need if you wanted to eat in - but
there was no dining table in the suite (you can put dishes on the coffee table I
guess). Not a problem since we ate in the hotel restaurant anyways. FYI the in
suite coffee maker was a press pot style - I'm used to drip style coffee makers
but it was simple enough to figure out.
We ate dinner and breakfast in the hotel restaurant; meals are a bit pricey but
good size portions and very tasty. We also relaxed in the lounge area - enjoyed
the atmosphere there - very laid back, nice fireplace on, several groups of
people snacking/drinking - but not a party atmosphere. If you are looking for
that, you might want to head to the bar/pub next door (Rolands?).
It was nice to walk out directly from the hotel onto the paved walkway/trail
that goes around the lake - I think it goes all the way to Whistler Village past
a second lake as well. We only walked about 30 mins one way before heading back.
The view is beautiful, you can see part of Blackcomb (the Armchair I think) but
basically you are looking out at a very peaceful setting of lake/trees, and if
you want some R&R - this is a great location. As we visited in late Sep, it was
still very warm/sunny but the evenings were a bit cool (it is in the mountains)
- the area is mostly known as a ski destination, but we plan to return in the
spring AFTER snow season as we aren't skiers. Prices can be significantly
cheaper in the off season - try booking thru Tourism Whistler for reduced rates.
Side trip - we drove to Whistler for lunch; you park in the parking lots and
walk a short distance to/thru the village - there is no driving in Whistler
Village. Sat on an outside patio and enjoyed watching all the people go by and
listening to great music. There are a ton of shops but we didn't go inside since
it was too nice outside that day.

We stayed at the Nita Lake Lodge for my husband's conference, and really enjoyed
our stay. The hotel is a few kilometres from Whistler Village, but the hotel
operates an hourly shuttle straight to the Village centre, and lots of room in
the SUV for shopping bags! There's also a parking garage underground.
The rooms are beautiful, ours had with table and chairs, living room with
fireplace, kitchenette in a closet-type unit (french press coffee maker,
fabulous coffee packets, microwave, fridge, dishes, kettle), king sized bed,
deep jacuzzi-size (but no jets) tub, a stone tile shower, separate toilet and
large vanity. The only negative thing about the bathroom is that the lighting
isn't very good for putting on makeup, but that's the only problem, I thought.
there are 2 TVs in the room, free in-room internet, and I think there are
computers in the lobby for guests to use as well.
We enjoyed our stay there, we're sure others will like it as well!

king bed, sitting area, wonderful bathroom, and what a view!. Would recommend
the Rim Rock Cafe for dinner . . .within walking distance . . . excellent food
and lovely ambiance.
