Great resort if you like the hustle of Whistler without the noise and crowds.
VERY peaceful and quiet yet a 15 min walk to the Village or a free shuttle bus
right in front of the resort. Great pool, gym, jacuzzi and great mountain charm.
We stayed in #203 a Big one bedroom and loved the views and space. With washer
and dryer in the unit it was great after a day of skiing. The people are great
and it does NOT have a hotel feel, instead you feel like your at home. Love it
and love the feeling of being in the mountains and not being in the crowded
village.

Spacious, comfortable, attractive with friendly staff & excellent parking that
doesn't cost an arm and a leg in addition like everywhere else in Whistler. Bus
stop is very convenient and can walk to village inside of 15minutes. Hot tub is
great. Gym a bit cramped with OK cardio equipment. We've been back to this place
3 or 4 times now and will be again!

We stayed there for 2 nights in September and had a great time. The area was
secluded and the building almost just a few guests. Our condo was located at the
back of the building near the trails so was very quiet. The unit was VERY clean,
spacious and had everything we needed, including laundry in our unit. It was
nice to use the outside pool and hot tub at the end of the day with all this
walking. The only issue was the another renter in the building was located just
above our unit and they were smokers. Although the building rule indicates no
smoking inside, there is nothing that says they can not smoke outside. So we had
to keep our windows closed in the morning or at dinner because of the smokers
upstairs who were chain smoking on their balcony, on both days we were there. I
mentioned it to the front desk and they made a note.
I read other reviews commenting on small parking spots. Nonsense. Just a regular
underground parking you find in the city.
Would go back again next time in Whistler - hope its soon!

Horstman House is a magnificent hotel a short distance away uphill from the busy
Whistler main village. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with everything
required for a relaxing holiday. Underground parking was free (not very common
in whistler) as was WiFi.
Great gym and heated outdoor pool and spa. An absolute bargain in the off
season. The reception staff were very helpfull. You will need to drive to the
main village walk though if you cant manage the 15 min walk back up the hill
afterwards. There is a free shuttle bus past the front door every 30 minutes or
so as an alternative.

Stayed here for 6 nights while mountain biking around Whistler. I thought it was
very comfortable with a friendly and helpful staff. Room was well equipped and
had a nice outside deck to enjoy after a full day of riding. I had no issues
with hottub, used it every day, or swimming pool. It even had a billiard table.
I would definitely recommend it to any one wanting a comfortable place to stay
with good value and I would stay there again.

I LOVED Whistler & will come back again. Horstman are individually owned condos.
Ours was very nice, 4rd floor, at the back (views of the trees). Very quiet &
private, with 2 bedrooms (1 king bed & 2 twins, along with sofa bed in family
room). Only problem was that the owner's need to change out the mattress in the
Master Bedroom - uncomfortable. Overall, very nice.

We checked in OK - the website had said they required a credit card hold of $200
but the front desk asked for $500 even though we had paid our rooms in full in
advance. The hot tub has only about 3 jets working and was, for the most part,
quite dirty at the bottom.
Our room was dark and shabby on the 2nd floor looking out on the back. We had
requested a view room.
One the third day our room door was broken by cleaning staff. No one fixed it
and when we returned the door had been left open all day. I tried several times
to contact staff to fix the door but no reply from my messages. Another guest
fixed the door. The manager provided a bottle of sparkling wine as an apology
but I would have preferred the problem not to have occurred in the first place
and at least to be able to contact hotel staff immediately.
Noise from the upper room kept us awake and/woke us up - there does not appear
to be adequate sound proofing between floors.
Finally I have requested front desk staff to send a fax to a prepaid visa to
release the hold placed on the card - this is 7 days AFTER check out. I was
emailed today a very discourteous email stating they were "done" with the
problem. I have lodged a complaint to central bookings at Whistler.
I would not recommend this hotel. Having traveled the world pretty much this is
the first ever seriously bad review I have written.
