Been there for the second time last January (from the 23rd to the 31st), now with my wife, kid, sister, brother in law & 2 nieces in a 2 bedroom unit. Everything just the same: quiet place in the upper village, good neighborhood & 3 minutes drive from Blackcomb's base. Room still clean and in good shape. Honest residence-like service. Just perfect for the rate we've paid. Recommend again!

If you want a good budget place to stay @ Whistler, I recommend!!! The suite is large, good room with king size bed, living room with sofa bed & full kitchen (they have also units with 2 and 3 bedrooms). It is located in a quiet place very close to Blackcomb's base. It is not actually a hotel. It is a residence with some room service. Perfect if you don't mind staying in a place with no restaurant. There is a good supermarket very close to the place where you can buy everything you need. Late arrivers, be aware: the front desk closes @ 5:00 PM; after that you have to go to another hotel to check-in (carefully read the instructions in the reservation letter).

Our room was nice and well kept and had all the essential amenities for our weeks stay. The hotel had a heated outdoor pool and spa tub, with great views of the mountains and forest. The large lobby area provides many activities for the kids with a games room and TV media room and a large flat-screen TV and couches. A large outdoor patio has a barbecue grill. The hotel also provides mountain-bike and ski storage. Secure underground parking is complimentary which is rare at Whistler

We are not used to bunk beds. Kept banging my head on the lower bunk. The upper bunk bed does not have a guard rail. Should have twin beds in there. The master bedroom and the apartment are lovely. Did not use much of the hotel facility. The hotel looks very nice and quiet in a lovely area. Parking is free. Would definitely use this hotel again.

We were very satisfied with the location of this hotel for snow skiing. The bus picks up right outside the hotel and is only a few short stops to Blackcomb mountain.
This hotel does not have a restaurant on site. The market village is nearby via the bus route for groceries, etc. However, I recommend picking up extras in the town called Squamish before you get to Whistler. This saves time and money. There are many good restaurants in Whistler though if you don’t plan on cooking in your suite.

My wife and I have been to the Horstman House twice in the last two years. We enjoyed both visits and would not hesitate to go back. The 1BR unit is very spacious. Some 1BR units are over 700 sf. The rooms have tasteful furniture, a gas fireplace, washer/dryer, deck, full kitchen, and wonderful bathroom with deep soaking tub. It sleeps four comfortably. The lobby is very nice with a large fireplace and leather chairs. It also has many activities for children (pool table, big screen tv, play room, swimming pool, etc.) This is a ski in resort with a free shuttle to the Village (3 minutes). It is within walking distance to Lost Lake. Enjoy your visit to the Horstman House!

We had mixed feelings about the Horstman House. The hotel staff is excellent and the Hotel itself is beautiful with the free bus stop right in front. We loved sitting in the hot tub while it snowed as the kids swam in the heated pool. The room we had was beautiful, roomy, and the balcony was large and looked out onto the mountain with an occasional skier or snowboarder going by. So why the mixed feelings? We have three kids and apparetly the floors are paper thin. Ironically we thought the kids were being well behaved when we got a knock on the door at 10:30 at night from the very annoyed guy downstairs asking for us to "walk lighter". He acted as though we were stomping around. The next day the front desk called to politely ask us to keep it down, my wife talked to the attendant who was very nice but admitted noise travelled easily. All in all we loved the Horstman and their staff was ALWAYS professional and courteous, but after our experience we'd feel more comfortable going back once the kids are older.
