Guests Review about the Edgewater Lodge at Whistler

Our rooms at the Edgewater Lodge Whistler was comfortable and I like the way they are decorated in a lodge style. We chose to relax in our rooms after a long day of skiing. The hotel is close to the River of Golden Dreams and the Nicklaus North Golf Course. They had a horse drawn sleigh ride that we will be sure to take next time we are here, it leaves from the lodge during the winter.

We decided to stay one night in the Lodge, because of amazing location on the lake shore and very quiet surrounding. But it is end of advantages of this place.
The rooms remember the better time in the past and look like accommodation in the forest camp.. Especially the bathrooms need the refurbishment.
The breakfast is simple and not attractively offered, although in the beautiful room with stunning view on the lake. About dinner we cannot say anything, as the restaurant was close in the evening.
Comparing with the prices offered by the decent hotels in the centre of Whistler Village.

over the years my wife and I have stayed at many places on Blackcomb or in the Village. While handy, typically most are crowded, active and noisy and you have to cram into the hot tub. The village restaurants are typical of any resort - good but not great value.
The Edgewater Lodge is everything those resorts are not. It is quiet, peaceful, has a spectacular view and a great restaurant. Rooms are not ultra lux but clean and comfortable. Each room has a huge picture window with a view across the lake to both mountain faces - spectacular even at night when you can see the lights of the snow cats grooming the hills. With only a handful of rooms this is the perfect escape - only minutes away from Whistler but in many respects a world away.
We will be back soon.

My daughter was married at the Edgewater and we can't say enough good things about the facility and the staff. This is the perfect spot for a small wedding. They were able to accommodate both families and were available for every request. The food at the reception was exceptional and the Belgian Chocolate wedding cake was one of the best desserts I've had! The staff helped make a very special time even more memorable with their caring attention to every detail.

We stayed at Edgewater during the second leg of our honeymoon trip, following a recommendation from friends. It didn't disappoint! Coming from Vancouver, the lodge couldn't have been more of a contrast from the hustle and bustle of the cosmopolitan city. It's in a quite, idyllic, location. It's romantically rustic, fairly anonymous but friendly, atmosphere is it's charm. (If you're into your 5-star monstrosity of a hotel with opulent furnishings it isn't for you.) The rooms all look out at the lake, and the windows are large to maximise the view / light. It's comfortable with all the amenities you'll need, with the bonus of a plentiful breakfast included in the price. We ate dinner at the restaurant once during our 2-night stay, and the food lived up to the beautiful situation of the restaurant - and I'm quite a foodie! The hot-tub over looking the lake was a treat!
An activity centre is within a 2-minute walk from the lodge which offers boating / canoeing / horse-riding trips. We did an hours canoeing on the lake first thing one beautiful morning, and it couldn't have been lovelier! My husband was particularly fascinated at getting up close to the the small sea planes which take off and land on the lake (although at the time I was more concerned with staying upright in the canoe!). Don't be worried by these though, they're not very noisy and only run during sociable hours!

Whistler is only a couple of km's down the road. A lovely resort, but I actually enjoyed staying out of the town at the very reasonably priced Edgewater Lodge, which I'd recommend to anyone.
