We had a small studio with a kitchenette, which was very handy for
breakfast and snacks. The hotel was clean, convenient (10 minutes walk
to the gondolas, if you are wearing ski boots), and the bed was super
comfortable with down comforters. We especially enjoyed the hot tub
after a strenuous day of skiing. All in all, very good value for money.
We stayed Tuesday-Sunday, and it was wonderful until the weekend crowd
of young people showed up on Saturday -- the hot tub was monopolized by
them and there was a very loud party until the morning. Not the hotel's
fault, but you might want to think about it, if you want to ensure a
quiet stay.

We had a fabulous time. It truly is a first class resort town with
customer service exceeding expectations everywhere. Great food, great
fun! Great to be back.
Only met one grumpy person who clearly didn't like their job and that
was right at the hotel front desk (which was surprising). But we were so
happy to be there we didn't care.
Great snow, great skiing, had a blast zipling, tubing, rock climbing and
at Bounce.

The reason why I stayed at this Hotel was because I got the coupon on
"Living Social". The deal was $249 for three nights. But since my
friends and I have different schedules, we only stayed for two nights
(and we thought it was still worth it).
When we got into our room, we were a little bit disappointed because it
seems bigger in pictures on their website. The room was tiny! But it did
have everything you need for cooking (just look in the cupboards) and
you'll find things like pots and dish soap. The room seems quite clean
and comfortable. So other than the size, I was okay with the room.
Now with their pools - I wish they had a bigger hot tub! They actually
have two hot tubs, but because we went when it was snowing, everyone was
using the hot tub instead of the swimming pool.

Their service was poor - I called the front desk using the phone in the
room and the lady was very friendly. I requested for an extra blanket
and she said she can't do that for me. She said she'll see what she can
do and deliver it to me. After 15 minutes, I tried calling again to see
if everything is okay but the phone didn't ring. When she finally came,
the blanket she gave me was the brown wooly ones (that are not
comfortable). It was a simple request and I just wish she dealt with it
more professionally.
Overall, it was an okay experience. It wasn't bad, but the only reason
why I picked this hotel was because of the deal.

We found Whistler Cascade Lodge Hotel through Living Social Escapes.
They were very helpful when we were trying to make our reservation as
there was not much availability for dates we were interested in. The
outside is very charming. The parking can be tight if you have an SUV,
but if you head towards the back of the garage there are larger spaces
that can accommodate you. The room was quite spacious. There was a nice
kitchen with stove, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, and fridge. We
brought microwave popcorn and hot chocolate that turned out to be a nice
treat when we were hanging out in the room. The bathroom is where it
felt the most dated in the room, but was fine. Like others have said,
there is no housekeeping and they expect you to take out your trash when
you checkout of the room. We found that they supplied plenty of towels
in the bathroom (but not much toiletries) and extra pillows and blankets
in the bedroom closet. The location is the best part of the Lodge. We
didn't take our car out once. We were able to walk every where. And when
we didn't feel like leaving the room, many of the restaurants around do
provide take out service. It was just right for 2 people, but would have
plenty of room for a small family.
Cascade Lodge Whistler Room Tip: We were on the street side and did find that you could hear
some of the traffic, but it didn't keep us up at night. The views were
more than worth it.

Like many other reviewers, we discovered this place through Living
Social and decided to come to Whistler for a long weekend to celebrate
my birthday. We had a lovely suite, with a good sized living room, a
full kitchen, and a separate bedroom. For the two of us, it was perfect.
For more, it might have been a bit crowded. While we were there it was
cold and snowy, and our little suite was very cozy. The kitchen was
excellent. As other reviewers have also said, we would have appreciated
enough coffee to last us through our stay. There was no housekeeping,
but that was not a problem at all. We did need an extra blanket, which
was provided quickly. Noise level was very manageable.
Our ONLY complaint is that from the minute we arrived until we left, we
could not get online. Thi s was not the hotel's fault. In fact they went
out of their way to assist us, but to no avail. The service provider
phoned and spent over an hour on the phone with my husband, but to no
avail. This was very concerning and frustrating to us, as we have
various reasons to be connected. My computer is a new-ish Mac, not some
half baked junker, and it has been to dozens of hotels without any
trouble at all. So we were frustrated.
But the Cascade Lodge - would we return? In fact, we can hardly wait to
do so. Next time we will bring our own coffee. It was a GREAt deal.
Thank you, Cascade people, and thank you Living Social.

The cascade Lodge has all the amenities you could need for a little
weekend getaway with fireplaces and full kitchens in their one bedroom
and two bedroom suites. There are free movie rentals, a great swimming
pool with two hot tubs and an exercise room with sauna and showers.
The parking is $16 a day so its important to keep your eyes open for
their off season deals where they include parking and little extras like
a gift basket. (We got a deal thru Living Social Escapes) Great
location, right on the edge of the village and close to shops,
restaurants and the lifts.

Extremely clean, beds very comfortable. So nice to have a separate
bedroom. Nice fireplace in the room and nice balcony (actually two of
them - one off the living room and one off the bedroom). Great to be
able to make a nice cup of coffee (or dinner if you want - full kitchen)
and relax before going to bed. Very convenient location. I would
definitely stay here again - price good, rooms comfortable.
Ask to stay NOT on the highway side. That being said, there are lots of
nice trees so you aren't looking at the road - but you can hear it if
the balcony doors or windows are open. |
