Hotel Review of the Aspens on Blackcomb at
Whistler

Of course there is not doubt the hotel was clean and comfortable and friendly, I
am not going there again because of its location. It is very close to the
Blackcomb Mountain Base, however, it is not the only thing we go to Whistler
for. If you are only in to Skiing and going to the top of the mountain and enjoy
the Gondolas then this is a good location. However, if you are more of biking,
and enjoy the village stroll kind of a person, then I suggest you find a hotel
in the Village or the Village North.. The Upper Village hotels are far from
everything else.

This "hotel" is not what you’d expect! All the rooms at this place are actually
owned privately by other people. The whole build is managed and maintained by
Rental quest. There is no turn-down service each night while you’re there but if
you stay there for 5 days or more they’ll change the sheets and towels,
occasionally, depending on the length of stay. (there are extra towels and
sheets in the room already.) It’s right on Blackcomb, which is gorgeous, but is
far from the Village nightlife, which was a bit of a pain since there is no
restaurant in the "hotel". It’s very quiet at night, and the room had a large
soaker tub, nice sized kitchen, separate bedroom and a fireplace. Oh, and they
have free newly-released movies too!

I really liked the layout of the suite, with a separate bedroom and living room/
kitchen. The fireplace was a nice touch and the bathroom was super clean. I
wouldn’t call it luxurious, but then again they don’t advertise it as a luxury
place. I would definitely return with friends or family members, but if I was
looking for a romantic weekend away, I might try something different.Hotel Review of the Aspens on Blackcomb at

Think about it. You don't want to get on a bus or carry your skis through town.
You want the kids to have easy access to ski camp. You want to relax at the
Fairmont apres-ski. You want to cook your own food. You want to have a lovely,
ten-minute, evening walk over a covered bridge into the center of Whistler. The
Aspens as it all. We have stayed here six times and loved it every single time
(especially when there's fresh snow). The front desk is spartan, but the
services available are great: coffee cart, free phone calls anywhere, ski shop,
ski check-in. It's the easiest place to be at Whistler-Blackcomb!

We've stayed at the Aspens 3 times now, stumbling upon it last summer. We love
rooms 355 and 209 with views of the Wizard Chairlift and mountains beyond.
Incredibly nice, well-appointed room (but not so posh that we don't want to
bring our 3 year old), and fantastic location so that we can pop into the
Village easily but also escape it easily. It's one of the only resorts in
Whistler that has a pool and also has 3 hot tubs where you can enjoy a glass of
wine watching the sun go down over the mountains. I think ti's all in the rooms
- our parents stayed in one that they didn't love as much. Also, we didnt' use
the main Aspens staff - we booked through Blackcomb Peaks who have always been
really helpful. All in all, though, we will definitely keep coming back!

A great place!!! Our room was on the 4th floor of the East Wing. It faced
Blackcomb MT, there was a run just below our balcony!! The room was clean and
had just about everything you need with the full kitchen and dishwasher!! They
could use a few more pots and pans but other than that it was great. Nice if you
want to be a little away from the noisy streets of the village. Bring your own
food to cook at the room!! We did that with breakfast and went out for dinner!
Request a room with a view and they will take care of ya!! Oh yeah bring your
own coffee!! The only supply small packets!!

Ok...little harder to review this fairly as all suites are owned individually so
what we experienced may not be the same. However....if I was coming back to
whistler, i would stay here definitely! 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, well
appointed. Only bad bit was that the hotel had a major leak a day or so earlier
and everything in the main areas was under plastic! Brilliant location.
Everything was a breeze to navigate and get to. Parking great...
would highly recommend. We were on second floor.

We searched & searched, found cheaper but location location location + the brand
new KING bed & quick efficient return contact with owners via DIRECT VACATIONS
finally convinced us.
We elected to take ski poles & boots with us, would we do that again
ABSOLUTELY!!
no cost to take one set of sport equipment with each ticket .... each set in a
ski bag + jackets, ski pants, thermals, max weight to be 20kg so that gave us
heaps of room in our packed cases. We checked them in in AUSTRALIA collected
them for 2 minutes in Los Angeles put in to the Central Luggage area & collected
them in Vancouver.... all with no effort or fuss & certainly a big saving &
better still our own BOOTS.
Pacific Coast Line Shuttle again easy easy easy with pleasant polite & VERY
helpful driver who delivered us to the ASPENS door after stopping at the
supermarket for us to pick us a few immediate needs grocery items "to settle in
with"
Although we booked privately & the reception desk is provided to help only the
guests booked via their agency we found them to be helpful & polite providing
information & maps etc etc. when we asked.
The Condo was above & beyond what we hoped for....no photo shopped images here!!
It was like walking into a a Hansel & Gretel fairytale picture book from our
private deck ..... with everything we needed for our 2 week stay on Blackcomb/Whister.
Appointment & accessories in the kitchen were excellent, bathroom with lovely
deep bath with copious quantity of hot water, huge vanity benches & towels
galore provided. Lounge with huge comfy chair & lounge & great flat screen TV
DVD, heating LOOKED good but we turned it down & finally OFF as it was cosy &
comfortable without.
Location was SKI IN SKI OUT no question (see photos below) with Concierge at
door to deliver skis when asked & pack away for the evening.
Skiing was direct to the lift & ticket bays cafes etc.
Lift tickets (again advised by owner) were available very cheaply by buying them
before the cut off date & as we had airfares & accommodation already paid
clearly we would need the tickets, on the first day we just ski to the Office
next to the lift with ID and collected them.
There is a smallish supermarket very close to ASPENS for forgotten items but we
enjoyed the 5 minute walk to the villiage every afternoon/evening & usually went
to the larger one there, had dinner & strolled home.
Shopping for gear, cafes & restaurants all to visit we ease, money changer
available till quite late & of course credit cards to be used everywhere.
The mountain was beyond description...the staff everywhere were amazing...just
look VAGUE, LOST, CONFUSED, UNSURE or all of the above and someone miraculously
appears with "can I help you" and they DO.
We loved Whistler/Blackcomb
We loved ASPENS Condo 345
