I shopped around on the internet quite a bit before choosing the Aava Hotel
Whistler. This was our first time to Whistler, and it was our honeymoon! We
stayed in one of the executive suites. It was a nice, large room, but something
about the layout and decor still felt a little bit like a mid-rate business
hotel. It didn't have the amenities and service that you would expect at a full
scale hotel such as the Hilton or Westin. But... you simply cannot beat the
price in this location. While I might not recommend it for a honeymoon (if you
have the cash to go fancier), I would certainly stay there again when we return
to Whistler. The hot tub was also really nice, but usually packed full of people
around 5pm, once the lifts had closed. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but
there are numerous pizza "to go" menus (they will deliver) and a White Spot
right across the street. For those of you Americans, like myself, who've never
been to a White Spot, it's kind of like a Perkins or a Denny's.

Aava Hotel Whistler is modern and rooms are very clean, service is excellent and
would definitely stay here again. The only downside is the very small sized
bathroom (could not fit toiletry bag on sink, and no shelf to put bag on
either). Previous reviews have commented on noise from other guests, but I
didn't find this to be an issue.

We stayed for three nights at the Aava Hotel Whistler and found the staff was
extremely nice and helpful. Everything we asked they helped us with great
recommendations. We really liked staying so close to the village and the slopes.
The rooms were quite small but we didn't need much space.

I was very impressed with the Aava Hotel Whistler. Stayed in a standard room for
about $130 and it exceeded all of my expectations. The room was large, cleaned
to a very high standard every day, with plenty of closet and drawer space. Not
that Whistler village is noisy but the fact that it is not in the centre means
that there is no real noise at night which certainly aids sleeping. Staff were
always very helpful whenever I asked anything of them, early check-in,
recommendations for bars and restaurants.
The hotel is located across the road from the entrance into the main village, so
we're talking about a 3 min walk into the village compared to the hotels located
in there. Hot tub and pool are a decent size but the gym is pretty limited, but
tends to be under utilised as people there are generally on active holidays
anyway. One minor quibble would be having to walk across the road to get
breakfast at The White Stuff, so needing to put coat and shoes on, but the food
and service in there were always very good, so not such a big deal.

This was a quick trip for us - 3 days skiing/snowboarding. Great location to the
lifts and Whistler Village (right across the street). Staff is great, very
helpful. |
