Earth Hour Whistler
March 26, 2011
Come pedal and dance at Whistler’s first-ever bike-powered concert at Whistler
Olympic Plaza from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. in support of the global Earth Hour
movement. Public is invited to generate bicycle-powered energy prior to and
during the concert featuring reggae rockers Aaron Nazrul & the Boom Booms.
Forest One Car Exhibit
December 15 to March 31, 2011
Forest One is a cedar bark, plastic strapping, and wool wrapped-twined and
plaited full-size automobile (1956 Nash Metropolitan) made with bark salvaged
from urban forests clear cut for condominium developments. This contemporary
exhibition provides a unique way to connect with and be inspired by the themes
of weaving, transformation, and sustainable life. The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural
Centre encourages you to explore the past, present, and future by reflecting on

Kokanee Valley Race Series - Discipline: GS

The Kokanee Valley Race Series is held on Thursdays throughout the season. The
series is open to skiers, telemarkers and snowboarders with different gender and
age divisions. Come out and have some fun with your friends and coworkers. Pro
categories are eligible for a cash prize and everyone is eligible to win tons of
great merchandise. The race is recorded and played back at the Kokanee awards
party with great draw prizes for all. Remember, you must be at the awards party

King of the Rail presented by Showcase

The King of the Rail is a series of rail jam contests which run on select
evenings at the Base of Whistler next to the Fitzsimmons Chair. There are
separate categories for snowboarders and skiers, males and females, and adults
and youth. Category winners will receive a percentage of the cash entry fees as
a prize and all participants are entered to win fantastic draw prizes from
Showcase, Burton, Atomic, Nintendo, TELUS, DNA and more. Please visit the

Park Rider Sessions presented by TELUS - Discipline: Halfpipe

Park Rider Sessions, presented by TELUS, feature slope-style, rail jams and
halfpipe competitions that take place on both mountains and utilize the best
terrain available. Competitions are open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages.

Save the Turtles - Yogathon

"Save the Turtles - Yogathon" is a fundraiser that will take place at Nita Lake
Lodge between 9 am - 9 pm. 12 hours of continuous yoga will be offered and
participants can stay for as long as they please, donating a minimum of $10 /
hour (ALL funds will be donated to the Sea Turtle Protection Program).
Participants are encouraged to obtain pledges from their family and friends too.
There will be snacks, music and door prizes!
