Hotel Review of the Hilton
Whistler Hotel & Spa
Feb 28, 2011
We just returned from a fabulous stay at this hotel which is perfectly
positioned near the main gondola to Whistler mountain and is right in
the heart of the village. We stayed in a Whistler Junior Suite and took
advantage of the suite's kitchen for all of our meals. The suite itself
is a bit dated, but is nice and comfortable. The bathroom is extremely
small, but functional. The fireplace was wonderful and we enjoyed our
complimentary log each evening. The views from the small balcony
overlooking the mountains were just stunning and were probably the best
feature of the room. We used the heated pool and jacuzzi. Highly
recommend sitting in the outside jacuzzi when it is snowing! Now on to
the not so good comments. One word of caution if you like quiet
evenings....expect to be kept awake by your neighbors next to you and
above you every night of your stay. The walls are very thin and we could
hear every movement, banging, doors opening/closing, talking, etc. This
was particularly problematic when the people above us would come home in
the evenings around midnight and stay up another couple of hours moving
about very loudly. Other than this, our stay would have been nearly
perfect. Also expect to pay $27/day plus tax for parking. The whole
entire Whistler mountain, village, and scenery is just a wonderful,
magical place. We can't wait to return one day!

This is such a lovely hotel because the service is so friendly and
attentive. All the staff seem to genuinely enjoy helping the customers.
Great value for money- we had a self- contained high quality apartment
with plenty of white fluffy towels and daily room service, so we could
choose to eat in the room, but breakfast was so good we tended to go
down and enjoy it- and again the breakfast staff bend over backwards to
look after you. A great way to start a day's skiing. The spa is really
good too; we used the outside pool, and inside jacuzzi and sauna most
days after skiing, and the gym on the days we didn't go out. Also the
hotel is so perfectly located in the heart of the village and next to
the ski lifts. And Whistler is such a great resort. We've skied a lot of
places but nowhere as good as Whistler for extensive skiing and good
village atmosphere with plenty of nice restaurants- the one in the
Hilton included. This hotel is definitely going to become a regular for
us! Thanks to all the staff who gave us such a great holiday!

Whistler Hotel & Spa

We stayed at the Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa for one night in Jan 2011
and paid US$334. The location of the hotel was great as it was located
directly in Whistler village and just a short walk to the Gondolas.
Check-in was smooth and Gordon the reception staff was very friendly and
welcoming. He saw to it that we got another room on the spot as the one
allocated to us hadn’t been cleaned yet. The lobby was very cosy and had
a nice fireplace.
Our room was located on the 5th floor. It was large and spacious. The
interior design was ok, not modern but was cosy. The view of our room
looked down on to the driveway entrance of the hotel, nothing
spectacular. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was small but clean
and adequate, and stocked with crabtree & evelyn products. There was a
separate sink area in the bedroom.
The concierge was extremely helpful and professional, tailoring
activities that suited us. This was a nice touch as they didn’t just
read off information without thinking about the guest. Their
recommendations of restaurants was also great.
We only stayed at the hotel for 1 night so can’t really comment much.
Overall I would give it an 8 out of 10 for a four star hotel.

Enjoyed 4 nights at this particular hotel. Wonderful location to
restaurants and ski lifts/gondola. Jr. suite w/kitchenette was wonderful
for lunches or lite breakfast if you didn't eat at the buffet. Would
definitely stay here again. Only downside is the outrageous parking fees
and basically have to use bell cap or carry your own luggage. No carts
are provided for doing it yourself.
