Guests Review about the Edgewater Lodge at Whistler

We have visited the Edgewater Lodge many times over the past ten years. Unlike
most accommodation in Whistler, Edgewater offers a mountain experience as
opposed to a village experience; with the amenities of the village being only a
few minutes away. The views from the rooms to Green Lake and the mountains
beyond are very beautiful. These same views are visible from the fine dining
restaurant and outdoor whirlpool; which are a great combination after a day on
the slopes or trails. We highly recommend Edgewater Lodge for those who are
looking for a tranquil and luxurious mountain retreat

Edgewater Lodge is small and intimate. It offers visitors a Whistler experience
that is different than staying right in the village. Looking out the windows all
you can see are mountains, lake and forest - yet the village is only a few
kilometers away. The staff are very welcoming and you feel almost like you are
staying in a private chalet, as opposed to a mega-resort. Breakfast is great and
the restaurant has an excellent atmosphere. I highly recommend Edgewater!

We had only booked for three nights as we had hired a car and were on a self
drive holiday. As soon as we drove into the Edgewater Lodge, and walked into our
most homely and comfortable unit, we fell in love with it instantly. We quickly
decided to see if there were another three nights available, and ended up making
it our home for six wonderful, wonderful days. I still have the most fantastic
felling when I think about our stay there. The scenery, the location and the
understated rusticness, suited us to a tee.
We hope to come back in the not too distant future and experience the most
wonderful place on earth at a different time of year. It was great to meet Jye,
the owner, and the other staff were friendly and made you feel totally at home.
We dined twice during our stay and both times the food was absolutely
delectable. Thanks again for a wonderful experience, as we had dreamt of this
holiday for a long time.

we chose to not stay with the major hotel chains in the hope that the service
would be more personal and in some way a little more charming. Edgewater
fulfilled our wishes. the room was of high quality, the service was second to
none, and the location was stunning. friendly and helpful staff made our stay
interesting and relaxing. the quietness at night, away from the downtown
activities (10 minutes by car), gave us the best 4 nights sleep we had while in
Canada. if we have the opportunity to travel this way again, we will certainly
stay again at the Edgewater lodge.

We booked the Edgewater Lodge for my sister's wedding that took place at the end
of August. We had 75 guests from all over attend this historic event and were
looking forward to a great gathering.
As a manager in this business, I unconsciously tend to notice anything going
awry behind the scenes that usually goes unnoticed to untrained eyes. Happily,
however, this was not the case at the Edgewater Lodge.
We set the ceremony out on the picturesque back-lawn overlooking Green Lake. The
weather that day gave us concern, but our cool, keenly-organized representative
from the lodge, Kylie, bade us calm and reminded us, “In Whistler, if you don’t
like the weather, wait 5 minutes.” To our gratification, she was right. The
skies opened up and we had a lovely ceremony.
Afterward, we held a reception in the same area where the passed food and
champagne were plentiful. At times in my career, the service staff may neglect
some guests and better service others, but here this was not the case. My
champagne glass was always full and the selected hors d’oeuvres were creative
and delectable.
We proceeded into the restaurant area for dinner where, again with the help of
Kylie, was visually appealing and pristinely set. We had a 3-course plated
dinner with a choice of appetizer and main course, which for 75 people is no
small feat. However, the dinner was delicious and the service staff were
attentive, swift but not unrushed, and friendly, (again, my wine glass was never
empty). The service staff further complimented the event by being on top of
assisting us with audio visual and lighting for a homemade slide show
presentation. |
