Hotel Review of the
Cascade Lodge Whistler
13 September 2011
Just got back from our trip to Whistler, we booked through here and
received a great deal! The hotel was very clean, comfy beds and right
across the street from restaurants and shopping. I was a little nervous
about booking here due to inexpensive rates compared to similar nearby
hotels but we took a chance and glad we did! Looking forward to going
back!

We went to this location as we had a deal to stay for three nights. The
place was just below average on almost every level. The staff behaved
like they hated to be there, they really needed to work on being
friendly to the clients as in reality we help make their pay checks. The
entire 3 1/2 days we were there one elevator was broken. It was a very
busy weekend as they had the Vancouver to Whistler bike race. This was
extremely annoying as you always had to wait forever for an elevator to
get anywhere. The units seem to be out of date, although it looked like
they tried but failed. They didn't even have an ice machine which I
thought was odd. The only good thing is that it was right in the village
and a close walk to food, shopping, entertainment, activities. I would
go back to Whistler, I just would not stay at this hotel again.

Unfortunately the whistler Blackcomb website has this hotel listed as
four stars so that is what we were expecting and what we got was two
stars. Pubic hair in the bathtub. Missing light bulbs. Stained ceiling
tiles. Worn out cabinet doors. Old tv. No onsite restaurant. Only one
front counter staff. You get the picture.

Spent a week with husband and friends at Cascade Lodge for a wedding.
Shared a 2 bedroom unit with the parents of the groom and it is a
beautiful property. It was booked through a 3rd party who did an
excellent job of arranging everything up there. It was unfortunate
however that she had several "issues" with the management of the Cascade
Lodge and said that she would never book any of her clients with them
again. It's too bad because it was a nice place.

We were moved from Glaciers Reach by Resort Quest to this hotel after
being given a disappointing room....
The room we were given was 511... the room itself was spacious with a
kitchenette and balcony.... the decor wasn't exactly updated (although
there was a 40in flat screen tv and dvd player), but it was nice enough
and everything was very clean and tidy.... the balcony just looks out on
to some trees, but that was all we wanted so long as we could sit and
drink our Naked Grape wine out there!! If you looked right up to the
right during the day, you would get a glimpse of mountain.....
The staff at checkin and throughout our stay were very helpful and
friendly.... the hotel was great for our purpose - it was just across
the road from the bus loop/village centre and they had pool facilities
etc... and the fact we had a kitchenette/dining area in our room meant
we could chill out in the room after a hard days skiing! Whistler is
great for eating our etc, but it was nice to have the eat in option on a
couple of the nights!
We were impressed by this hotel and would def recommend to anyone
wanting to stay in Whistler without paying crazy prices (we had to pay
an upgrade fee of £100 for our 5 night stay, but it was absolutely more
than worth it!)
