Hotel Review of the Pinnacle Hotel Whistler
Oct 7, 2009
My son and I stayed here for a week vacation. The hotel is not fancy but we were
very satisfied. It's clean and neat, the rooms come with a small kitchen that is
quite functional (though the supplied set of dishes / utensils was perhaps a bit
sparse). Housekeeping did a great job keeping our room clean. The front desk
staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Considering the very reasonable price
(for Whistler, which is quite expensive overall), the location is great; it's
only about a minute's walk to the "Village Stroll" and within five to seven
minutes of everything in Whistler Villager, including the lifts to both Whistler
and Blackcomb mountains. It's near the biggest (and most reasonably priced)
grocery store and the convenience store. It's right across the street from the
only rental car place in town and one can up the airport shuttle right across
the street. The main queen bed was a great (my son slept on the pullout couch
and was much less enthusiastic about it :-). It has laundry facilities which we
did not use. It also has a pool and hot tub located outdoors; we didn't use them
but we saw a number of others using them. There is an Italian restaurant in the
same building as the hotel; we didn't try it. The room has a very large jetted
tub right in the room which my son used several times. Plenty of hot water.
Cable TV with plenty of channels. Individual room air conditioner. Gas fireplace
in the room. In summary, we enjoyed it, it was a great value for the money and
we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Excellent place to stay, very close to everything and the staff was great.
Having a kitchen in the room made breakfast convenient and quick before hitting
the slopes. Grocery store is very close by and the bus from Vancouver drops off
and pics up across the street.

The upper village was a great location for us. Also the parking was secure with
a keyed garage door to enter. The parking spaces small. The room and bath were
clean. The hot tub next to the bed gave a cluttered feeling to the room.

got a good rate of 113 including tax. the room was spacious and clean albeit
noisy as we were on the road side of the building. the pool is very very small
but this was almost an advantage as we almost always had it completely to
ourselves as most people came in and looked at it with sad faces and left. the
location of the pinnacle is excellent with secure underground parking.

The room had its own kitchenette and a two-person whirlpool bath, as well as a
balcony. It was literally five minutes walk away from the town center with all
its shops and amenities. Parking was $15 cdn a night, though.

My husband and I with 2 young kids arrived at Aug 8 for 2 nights. We booked a
Family Fun package that offered by the hotel. The package is ok, you paid what
you want., however, the hotel room is not as good as we read from reviews.
We're arranged a corner unit on 3 floor, the views is great with lots of windows
and 2 balconies, but the bedding is quite dirty with some sort of "saliver
stain" on pillows. The sheet on the sofa bed is also has red-brown stain. These
are the things I never see in hotels I ever stayed. The renovation job done
poorly, with wallpaper peel off a bit, blinds miss some pieces, The facial
tissue paper holder cover not properly install...etc. The real thing that turn
me off from cooking breakfast inside the unit, is when I wanted to brew coffee
with the provided coffee pot , I opened and found a old coffee is still sit
inside, yaak!
Also, when I book the room by phone, I was confirmed that I would have 2 queen
beds, but when we arrived, it was just a queen bed with a sofa bed. On the first
night, my family cannot sleep well at all with so limited space on the queen
bed. The sofa bed bedding is dirty, so we don't use it at all. Then the second
night, we request to move to a room with 2 beds, and we're granted. The second
room in the second floor is cleaner and more comfortable and tidy than the first
room.
This is my first time to stay at Pinnacle Whistler, I really reluctant to
suggest my friends or family to stay this hotel again.

Located close to Whistler Village - easy walking distance - 5 minutes to centre,
10 to Gondolas.
Bright and cheerful with comfortable good sized rooms with kitchenette, and good
shower/bathroom - which doubles as jacuzzi - OK but intrudes a bit into the
bedroom. Staff are helpful and pleasant at all times. Wireless internet did not
work for us - but there was a another accessible router to pirate!!
We did not use the breakfast or restaurant facilities - Quattro's Italian which
is on the premises. Plenty of good dining in Whistler.
Take a trip up the Gondola for great views but if you are visiting in Summer
there is not much of interest otherwise - Whistler is geared for winter sports.
Come or go on the Whistler Mountaineer train (doesn't run in winter) - but not
both - take a Seaplane, bus or drive one way!
Pinnacle is highly recommended for value and quality.
