Hotel Review of the Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre

We stayed here for a week and thought our room was fantastic, very
spacious & nicely decorated with gas fireplace. There is also an outdoor
hot-tub overlooking Blackcomb Mt which is most enjoyable at the end of a
day's skiing.
All of the staff we dealt with were very friendly and most eager to
assist with anything.
The hotel is in a great position, very close to the good restaurants and
only a couple of minutes walk to the base of the mountains. The lockers
at the mountainside sister resort are also very convenient to store your
ski gear.
I didn't see another hotel that I would prefer to stay, and would love
to go back soon.

hard to free them up and satisfy pool and spa facilities good, room attendants

Beautiful Whistler Stayed in the Pac Pacific Village hotel as part of a two week
"whistle" stop (groan) tour of Western USA/Canada in September 2010 with my wife
and 4 other couples.
This is what a hotel should be like..just pure class in the very classy
Whistler. I could not fault this hotel in any way...check in was swift / staff
very friendly and attentive / rooms just beautifully luxurious / superb location
/ breakfast was excellent . I can only imagine the room rate here during the
Olympics! Such a well run classy, friendly hotel.
As for Whistler, well i was blown away and it wasn't even ski season. On the
first morning we strolled up to the outdoor market, with live music, just an
amazing atmosphere!. The peak to peak ride was brilliant...make sure to get a
glass bottom car!. The zip-lining was such an adrenaline rush, with breathtaking
views (some of them upside down!)..you cannot visit Whistler and not attempt the
zip-lines! Restauarants and bars were superb if a little pricey.
Overall, i couldn't recommend the Pan Pacific highly enough on your trip to
Whistler!

Our trip to Whistler was to experience the skiing and what the Canadian
wilderness offers at that time of year. Not to be disappointed, it's
everything your neighbour has been telling you. Yet the most surprising
experience was our stay at The Pan Pacific Hotel at Whistler. This was
as wonderful as anything surrounding it. The location on the mountain
with the views of Whistler and Blackcomb and the convenience to the
gondolas could not have been better. The service, to the friendly"
hello" and "how was your day" is sincere. The room, well how would you
say perfect any other way. The down comforters, the fireplace, the
details and yes the constant reminder that this is certainly a place to
return to

We had high expectations of this hotel as it was rated highly in most of their
reviews - we were not disappointed. Our room was clean and very comfortable, and
the staff were always friendly and accommodating. It was very handy that we had
access to the sports locker room at the PPW Mountainside as at the end of a day
of skiing, we only had to lug our ski gear a short distance to the Mountainside
location. The hot breakfast was a great way to start the day and complimentary
internet and shuttle service was also a great bonus. Would definitely stay here
again.

Stayed at village centre for a ski trip in Jan 2010 and have to say wow! Room
was unbelievable, huge, loads of storage and really well equipped. Staff were
amazingly helpful and cheery at all times no matter what the query. This is the
best hotel I have ever stayed at and I will rush back next year.
Cannot recommend highly enough.

This was one of my favorite hotels EVER, and we have traveled quite a bit. I
believe that if people find something wrong with this hotel it is either A) a
completely isolated incident or B) They simply can't be happy anywhere. We loved
this hotel and Whistler.
I will start with the hotel.
1. The staff and management are simply the best I have seen. We have stayed at
Fairmont, Westin, etc and NONE can compare. Everyone was so very polite and
helpful (this is true for the entire workforce we encountered while in Whistler,
from hotel, to slopes, to restaurants....The American service industry really
could take note!! Especially NYC, but that's another story.). I truly believe
the best way to learn the "secrets" of a town is through the locals. Do yourself
a favour and get to know your ski instructor, bartender, waiter, hotel font desk
manager, etc. They are a wealth of knowledge.
2. The location. It is wonderful. Right in the village, but not in the big
hustle and bustle. That is a 5 minute walk away, so it is a little quieter, and
we loved the quiet after a long day of falling down a mountain on a snowboard.
The Pan Pacific Mountainside is where all the hectic action is, but again, if
that's your thing, it's a short walk away.
3. Ski Valet at the Pan Pacific Mountainside. Yes, just walk over to the sister
hotel, go to your own locker, grab your stuff and hit the slopes. You are right
there.
4. FREE morning breakfast. This is HUGE for families, but it was a big deal for
my husband and i too. Crawled out of bed and headed down to the buffet. Had
EVERYTHING on it, eggs, bacon, pastries, juice, etc....
5. Manager's reception from 4-5:00. Sounds corny, but we went a few nights. Free
cocktail, hot chocolate, hot cookie and a snack. Our snack was mac and cheese
one afternoon and a bowl of chili the other. We really did talk to the managers
and learned some secrets of traveling. I will keep those to myself. :-) Haley
was our server, she was adorable and offered us tips on skiing the mountain.
6. The room was perfect. Very clean, comfy bed. Nice kitchen. NIce little
balcony, but a little too cold to enjoy it.
Now, my take on Whistler. If you haven't ever been, you are in for a treat. It's
like a make-believe, quaint little village. Walk everywhere through the village.
Restaurants and shops galore. Everyone, EVERYONE, we met was so friendly. Keep
in mind we are from Alabama and will talk to a wall, so maybe that helped us a
little, but seriously, people were so helpful. I can not comment on the skiing
too much as we just learned to snowboard while we were out there. We were in ski
school for 3 days and the instructors were great. I found snowboarding difficult
to learn but by our 4th day, we seemed to be getting the hang of it, until i
fell on ice and broke my wrist. Another story, but wear those wrist guards.
All in all i give PPWV a GOLD star and Whistler is a fantastic way to spend your
holiday.
