Review of the Pan Pacific Hotel Whistler Mountainside

We liked this place because it was located with a mountain view but
close to all the shops and restaurants in the village area.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating, rooms very clean and
decorated nicely.
Only drawback was the $25 per day for parking.

Nice Hotel and Great Location. The responsibility of the Hotel
Management ends there however. We had our vehicle valet parked for the
duration of our stay and due to the fact we had a cargo bin on top they
had to park it in the over height lot. Quit a standard issue for
Whistler as many vehicles do have this feature. The valet service was
fast and courteous however when we arrived home and unloaded the bin we
noticed the entire top of it had been damaged and scratched. One of the
valet persons had tried to park the vehicle in the regular height lot.
The first phone call to the hotel and my explanation of the incident was
met with "The Hotel is not responsible for the parking of the vehicles -
this needs to be addressed with a separate company. To my astonishment
the hotel did not accept any responsibility for the same persons parking
the vehicle that also deliver your luggage to your room! They only
directed me to a separate company and through much red tape and many
emails and phone calls was I compensated for the damage. Seems odd that
I paid my money to Pan Pacific for our vacation however have to deal
with a different company when theres a problem. A sour end to a great
vacation.

Location is fantastic .
Very clean overall.
Rooms are slightly dated.
bar in hotel is a nice facility but grossly overpriced.
would recommend if you got a good price.
could not recommend if must pay full price for a room.
Pool and hot tub are fantastic.

Would highly recommend this hotel. The room was clean, modern and
spacious and the balcony was nice. It was useful to have a kitchen.
Hotel located in the village, so it is a very short walk to gondolas and
chair lifts (we went up to the top and had fun in the snow), gift
stores, chemists, grocery shops etc. It is a very short drive to some
pretty local lakes. We look forward to returning to this hotel one day.

Note: we got a great deal on a valley-side studio and we surprised with
a free upgrade to a one bedroom suite (also valley-side.) So that made
me extra open to liking this hotel right off the bat. I think I would
prefer the valley view. We were nearly overlooking the bus loop, but the
view was so beautiful anyway. And quieter. You could see stars at night.
And just some mountains, no bike trails. Room was big, the fireplace was
so romantic, and the TVs in both the bedroom and the living room her
high-def w/ HBO. We wanted to steal the bathrobes. (We didn't.) The
kitchen was nicely stocked. The bathroom was nice, especially the
super-deep soaker tub. It felt truly luxurious, especially for the
price.
I'd love to stay in winter. I bet it'd be extra-romantic. It was my
first trip to Whistler. The staff was really helpful with directions,
not that we were far from anything. Gondalas, ziplines, and restaurants
right outside the back door. The pool and hot tubs were great and the
sauna was so cool. This was a great hotel. Can't wait to return. |
