Hotel Review of the Hilton
Whistler Hotel & Spa

Spacious rooms, immaculate, wonderful service and best of all the
Whistler Village is right outside the back door of this property. One of
the best Hilton resorts I have stayed at.

I stayed in the summer of 2011 and the hotel was very beautiful (better
than the Westin - it felt more "hotelly" and less "lodge". The service
was great and it is located right in the walking village and at the base
of Whistler.

The Hilton Whistler is not the newest hotel at Whistler but is still in
good condition. Had a very large room complete with full-size fridge,
stove-top, and microwave. The room was very clean and housekeeping did a
fine job. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. The
bed was very comfortable but as this was an adjoining room there was
some noise from next door. I don't know if other types of rooms without
adjoining doors are available. The location is excellent since it is in
the main village but on the back-side so it is free from the raucous
noise of the village stroll. This was my second visit to the Hilton and
i would stay again.

My ground floor suite had a patio and patio chairs, but no view. The
room had blackout curtains, easy to operate AC, 42” LCD TV, free wi-fi,
room safe, fridge-micro-cook top-coffee machine, king bed, a small
sitting area, desk, iron and board, robes, clock, hair dryer and fire
extinguisher. The hotel is a short walk from most venues and at a summer
rate of $128 plus $20 parking was good value. Staff was excellent with
easy check-in and express check-out. My only complaint is amorous sounds
transmitted from the room next door.

So, we just got back from a 6 night stay at the Hilton and I am
definitely coming back! We had friends staying at the Westin next door
and, for the money, we had the better place. They paid $900 more than us
for the same duration of stay and, yes, they had a lovelier lobby and
nicer handles on their dresser, but that was about it.
We stayed in a King Suite so had our own kitchenette and real fireplace
on the top floor. It was a well appointed room, daily cleaning was
excellent and it was steps to the slopes. You literally have less than a
30 sec. walk to the Whistler gondola.
The front desk and bell service was excellent (not over the top annoying
and not complacent).
Only issue may be the overly eager heating system in the rooms- it was
tough to get the temp just right.
Loved the free and easy to access wi-fi and also the fire log daily and
great robes/ plentiful towels. Room service was excellent and prompt
(best potato leek soup ever!). Indoor and outdoor hot tubs were great as
was the heated outdoor pool. The fitness room was modern and also well
appointed (worked out twice!)
I have previously stayed at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler and, while the
rooms there are 'prettier', the huge savings, proximity to hill and
village and excellent service way out-do that hotel. I would strongly
recommend it.
