Hotel Review of the Adara Hotel Whistler
Sept 7, 2009
We requested a quite room after reading about the reviews below. Luckily they
were accommodating and even gave us a bottle of chilled wine to celebrate our
anniversary! The rooms were spacious and absolutely loved the in room coffee
press and daily newspaper. It was nice to sit out on the patio and simply enjoy
the evening sky. If you plan to use the microwave, remember to bring some plates
and cutlery. In-room safe was useful and plenty of space to put your
shoes/hats/gloves/toques in the front hall closet. Having a free wireless
connection was a nice added feature. Comfortable King sized bed with soft linens
made it a great night sleep. Would stay here again.

When I first saw the earplugs on the bedside, I thought it was for the noisy air
conditioner. Then, I surmised it was for the fact that you can hear everything
being said and done in the next room. Finally, with dread, I realized that you
can hear the music playing clearly at Buffalo Bills below the hotel. Our room
was directly over the club and back doors - not good if you need a nights sleep
before doing activity.
If you party all night and go to bed at 3AM, this could be the hotel for you.
But if you need a good nights rest, give this a pass.
Also, bit disappointed with the tatty reno's done. The paint job couldn't
disguise the fact that the walls and doors were already damaged before the paint
job. Also disappointed with the fact that our room's window was on someone
else's patio. They could walk over and look right in our room (or come in the
window if we had it open!). Not very secure.

Centrally located in the village, Adara Hotel is surrounded by some of
Whistler's best-loved restaurants and most popular night life options. Although
sometimes lively, Whistler Village is as world famous for its night life as it
is for its skiing and riding.
The majority of our unique and stylish hotel is unaffected by the pulse of the
village evening and there is restful sleep in abundance - on the most
comfortable beds you have ever slept in! When booking directly, please advise of
your preference for a quieter location if you are concerned.
We strive to ensure that all of our guests have a comfortable stay and a
memorable Whistler visit. We regret that you did not have a pleasant experience
with us.

I got a great rate at this luxury hotel through
www.Allure-Hotels.com and spent 2
nights there in July, 2009. Upon entering the cool modern lobby, until I checked
out, everything was what you would expect from a 5 Star hotel, including a
large, gorgeous and well appointed room.
The hotel is on a small circle which also houses the Best Western and the
Crystal. There are little laneways up into Whistler Village and you are close by
a number of great restaurants, as well as a short distance to the Whistler
Gondola. There is a small pool on a mezzanine terrace which will only be open in
the summer. It is a bid small for serious swimming, but enough for a few laps. A
great place for summer sunbathing. There is valet only paid parking at the
hotel.

The location is amazing! The staff is friendly! The rooms are large and clean!
The hotel is like mountain lodge meets minimalist modern! All around, the
experience was great!

The Adara is the must stay hotel when visiting Whistler. The modern styling done
by Inform Interiors in Vancouver makes the experience amazing. Located in a
prime Whistler village location and equipped with all of the amenities you need
in summer and winter, it is my only choice for accommodation. The staff are
amazing - Colin takes care of everything and ensures you have the best Whistler
experience.

We stayed at the Adara hotel for two nights and it was great!! The hotel is
really modern and has a cool feel to it. We had a Superior King suite and loved
the fireplace. Bed was very comfortable, I don't think I've ever stayed at a
hotel with such a comfortable bed. We went up with a group of 8 and all of us
enjoyed the hotel. The front desk was helpful and polite, offered to give
restaurant suggestions, carried our bags to our room etc. We've been to Whistler
many times but this hotel was one of the best. Would definitely return and
recommend to others.

During our 2-nights' stay at Whistler, we were upgraded to the Loft Suite, which
blew us away. It came equipped with chic furniture, tech gadgets (iPod plug-in
radio, CD player, bedroom tv, sleep enhancer etc), free wireless internet and
more! The hotel pool and jacuzzi provided a cool (literally!) relief from the
summer heat. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a totally
enjoyable stay at Adara!
We also liked that fact that the hotel is just one building away from the
restaurant / shopping stretch, but faces away from all the noise. I'd say it was
a gem of a find and that the hotel offers a unique experience different from
that of the typical big-name hotels.

Usually we stay on the mountain just off Blackcomb, mainly because we like to
ski in and ski out, and because we thought the village would be noisy at night.
Nearly every hotel I checked in the Village, said that noise at night is a
concern to some people, and the Adara was no exception. I did ask for a quiet
room, and we were given a room at the back and far end. A few nights we were
woken up at 2am when the bars close, but based on research that was to be
expected.
Other than that, the hotel was fine. The beds were lovely and comfortable
though, nice duvets and bath robes, and a nice sized bathroom. With the regular
room, the 'kitchen' part is pretty tiny with just a microwave, fridge large
enough to put in your own food, french press and very good coffee, but no dishes
or cutlery. If you plan to eat at least b/fast in the room, I would bring a bowl
or whatever you will need.
The staff were all very friendly and professional. The hotel is unique and a
nice boutique style hotel, which we liked, but if you want more of a huge
Westin-style hotel, then go down the road to the Westin! We loved the location,
as it was a bit quieter than other Village hotels, but very close to everything
including the bottom of the hill, a nice gym right next door, and despite not
being on the mountain, the convenience of being in the Village was rather nice.
