Hotel Review about the Nita Lake Lodge Whistler
9 January 2012
We've stayed twice now and enjoyed most of the services including Fix
Cafe, Cure Lounge, and the Aura dining room, spa and birthday cake
service. The lodge and studio decor were delightfully west coast with
lots of dark stone but very fresh. The room was very comfortable as
well. The location is wonderful - located on the shore of a small lake
on a chain of trails around a string of lakes: great west coast
atmosphere and excellent for walking & cycling.
All the restaurants had superb quality of food and each one a unique
experience. The baked goods - in all their forms - were especially
memorable. They make their own charcuterie and fantastic bread. They
sell this in the cafe and some little gourmet cheese packs etc so you
can make your own picnic. The Aura restaurant is superb and, IMHO, head
& shoulders above most of the high rated restaurants in the village.
Good value too for the quality of food. The staff were warm and helpful
too.

Now for most people, Whistler is a "travel to" destination. However, as
someone who lives in Pemberton (20 min away) and works in Whistler, I
wanted to feel as if I had "gotten away" from it all on our "stay-cation"
;) Nita Lake Lodge was the perfect solution and a wonderful spot to
celebrate my hubby's birthday! Right from the beginning, we were made to
feel special and welcome! We chose the "Date Night" package which
catered to our need for some kid-free time as well as our wallet! A
beautiful, lake view room, an amazing 3 course dinner at Aura and
breakfast the next morning! Not to mention all of the little
complimentary "birthday treats" that really personalized the visit for
us! All I can say is "WOW"!!! I will definitely be back and I won't
hesitate to recommend this hidden gem to everyone I can!

Authentic, luxurious mountain lodge retreat/resort in whistler BC which
is absolutely fabulous! I appreciated the location - the lake is lovely.
The staff are very helpful and welcoming. The rooms are equipped with
all you need, are stylishly appointed and comfortable. The food is
locally sourced where possible, excellently prepared - and the cocktails
are creative and delicious. Try a sleepy frog cocktail - excellent! Also
the pumpkin soup and charcuterie selections are fantastic!

I wrote a nice long detailed review about how great this hotel is but
tripadvisor lost it when I had to retrieve my password. Suffice to say
it is one of the best hotels in
Whistler

We checked in on Friday, a family of four + small dog, and were upgraded
to a 2 bedroom suite. SWEET! It was gorgeous. Great location, on a lake
AND walking distance to the Whistler Creekside gondola. Each room has a
king bed, and the bedroom on the second floor is quiet AND dark. Thank
you! The bathrooms are amazing, heated floors and Frette towels. The
shuttle service so convenient. Those who complain about the parking
charge should comparison shop, the Westin charges $35. The front desk
was friendly. Our $35 3 course dinner in the restaurant was delicious
and the service did not subtract from the experience. Sven was our
waiter, and he was pleasant and knowledgeable.
Friends came to visit with us and ate dinner with us in the restaurant.
They left swearing "next time at Nita Lake Lodge."
If I needed to complain or offer a suggestion it would be:
1. have a year round pool
2. offer ski valet from the slopes...arrange to have someone at the
bottom of Whistler Village and Creekside to take the skis from guests
3. it was $10+ for an apple juice and bagel with lox and cream
cheese....ouch
4. nice guy offers to bring our car up from the garage, comes to bring
me the keys and leaves...leaving us with a luggage cart full of bags and
skis. Ironically I was prepared to give him a $5 tip...until he walked
away.
5. dust the tops of the baseboards |
