Hotel Review of the Hilton
Whistler Hotel & Spa

The Hilton Hotel Whistler was very nice, but it seemed like a facade. The room
did not have any shampoo in it, the remotes were not working in either room for
the tv's, and when we asked about items from the menu the staff was not
knowledgeable. We went to the pool and the entire pool had their flags up for
bar service. I walked into the bar and asked the bartender if anyone was going
to wait on the pool area. He said yes, but came out about 15 minutes later. We
never did get a drink! Poor service all the way! I was VERY disappointed....

Just got back from a 1 night stay at the Hilton, great hotel! Check-in was a
breeze, no line-up and we were able to get our room early (2:30 instead of
check-in at 4:00). Room was larger than I thought with very cushy, comfortable
beds with many pillows, bathroom was also large with nice toiletries/towels. Our
5th floor view was overlooking the pool/driving range and also The Westin next
door. We didn't go in the pool as it was pretty crowded but it was nice and the
gym looked well equipped. This hotel is also a very short distance from the
lower village, probably a two minute walk. Also check out the summer Farmer's
Marker in the Upper Village (on Sunday), we loved it! I would definitely
recommend this hotel, although the off season rate could have been slightly
lower (we paid $190/nt incl tax and parking - AAA rate).

We stayed one night in a king junior suite. The room was a great size with a
kitchen and bar area. Small but manageable balcony with big french doors opening
onto it. The location is perfect for the summer - right at the bottom of the
bike park and next to all of the summer activities (zip line etc...). Dog
friendly and no fees. Well appointed rooms. Great rate. Would return in a
second.

We simply LOVED the Hotel.
Staff was very nice and knowledgeable .
The Hotel itself was Elegant and was located close to all the shopping and
dining areas.
Our room had fireplace, kitchen, & balcony.
The bed was super comfy.
Kitchen had all the items needed to make a meal (forks, knives, pots, pans,
etc...)
We only wished the Pool was open later than 10:00pm & the Hotel offered free
wireless Internet.

Stayed here for four days. My room was huge and faced the pool and putting
green. Lovely view and large, well appointed room. Also very quiet. Had an
enormous Jacuzzi type tub in the bath room which was a treat.
Dining room was good for breakfast and staff is attentive.
However if you are not into extreme sports there is little to do. Twice through
the village and you are pretty much shopped out. Next you can trying stopping to
eat but how many times do you want to eat and shop.
My friend and I did not want to kayak, were are in the over 70 group. Extreme
hikes were out as where many of the other suggestions made by the staff. A
little disappointing. We had no car and were a captive audience.
However the bus service to and from Vancouver is excellent with door to door
drop off.
I don't think I will return to Whistler.

We stayed at the Hilton Whistler Resort on New Year's Eve. It was a great
experience. The hotel is beautiful. There were movie stars staying there with
their families so it was a real treat for our teenage sons. Our room was huge
and had a fireplace. The balcony had huge doors that opened up to a view of the
slopes. It snowed all night so it was a perfect vacation. The resort is in the
middle of everything so it is very convenient. If you stay here, eat a hot dog
at a great place called Zog's Dogs. You will not regret it. I recommend this
place highly.

Stayed for one night . Whistler mountain had closed down but we were just
visiting to get a feel for Whistler prior to the 2010 Olympics. This is
definitely not a 5 star hotel. The reception desk and main lobby are cold and
sterile. We stayed in the South Tower and had no complaints about the room or
bath...both definitely 4 star. Parking underneath the hotel is $25 a day.
Had an excellent meal in the Cinnamon Bear restaurant which was virtually
deserted except for ourselves and the Swedish cross county Olympic team. Did
stroll through the main village area and there are plenty of restaurants to
choose from. For skiers the Whistler Gondola is perhaps a one block walk. |
