Hotel Review of the Four Seasons Hotel
Whistler
Feb 28, 2011
This is the best Whistler Hotel we have stayed in!
We have stayed in the Chateau, Delta, Pan Pacific, and Hilton Hotels and
Marriott residences in the last two years. The pricing is steep, but not
dissimilar to the Chateau, and inclusive of much more.
The Four Seasons service simply trumps all the others!
The rooms are spacious and modern with opulent bathrooms, and serviced a few
times a day. The hot tubs and spa are everything you would expect, with robes,
lockers and slippers provided, and nothing too much trouble.
Ski concierge means handing over skis and poles AT the bottom of the piste, a
30m walk to a comfortable warmed room where freshly baked cookies and hot
chocolate are dispensed liberally, and you immediately change into comfortable
shoes and leave all the wet gloves, helmet and boots to be warmed and dried etc
whilst you stroll back to the hotel to relax in the hot tubs.
Complementary wine tasting (with generous glasses) and cheeses served at 4pm
every afternoon with a live band.
My biggest problem revolves around trying to explain to my kids that this is not
the real world, and that this is luxury above and beyond!

We just spent five days at the Four Seasons in Whistler. It was our third stay
at this hotel, so we obviously like it, but I must say that this time I found
the service annoyingly slow on a few occasions. We do like the ski concierge,
they were very helpful and quite efficient. The hotel location is very
convenient and the shuttle runs very often. Overall the staff was helpful and
attentive. The rooms are big and comfortable, with a fireplace and balcony, very
nice. My only concerns were:
On our first day we came back from skiing around 2:30 pm, only to find that our
room had not been cleaned. We called housekeeping to request that they clean our
room before noon every day, as our toddler usually naps around that time, and we
were assured this would be taken care of. To my unpleasant surprise the next day
I came back after 12:30 to - you guessed it - an unserviced room. We had to call
again and then sit outside our room with my very cranky toddler and wait for
housekeeping to clean, so my daughter could take her nap.
We don't usually like buffet breakfasts, but at the Four Seasons this could be
your only reasonable option if you want to get out and ski, as a-la-carte items
take way too long. I don't understand how they can prepare a latte in 3 minutes
at Starbucks but it takes 35 minutes at the Sidecut.
Babysitting service is OK, but I do have some concerns about the common sense of
the sitter we got. Probably not the hotel's fault, but they arranged for it...
Overall the good out weights the not-so-good by much, and we will be going back.

We stayed here for five nights recently and had an excellent time.
The room was clean and spacious, as was the bathroom which had a separate
shower. The ski concierge is such a good idea, no more traipsing to and from the
slopes in uncomfortable ski boots! There is a shuttle bus to the concierge which
is at the base of Blackcomb, but it is only a short walk away anyway. At the
bottom of the slopes of both Whistler and Blackcomb, there is a Four Seasons
flag/tent where you leave your skis and they then take them back to concierge.
Also the hot chocolate and cookies when you get back from skiing are a lovely
extra. As you would expect all the staff are helpful and friendly.
The outside jacuzzis are nice to relax aching muscles in after a hard day
skiing, on one or two occasions we were even offered free cookies in the jacuzzi
too!
We ate in the bar most nights and the food was very nice and not too expensive.
One night we ate in the sidecut restaurant, the steak was some of the best I've
had.
I can't really think of any negative aspects of our stay, I loved everything
about it.

My husband and I stayed at the Four Seasons Whistler for 7 nights this past
January and it was by far the best ski town hotel experience we have ever had.
The staff was so friendly, helpful, and gave the perfect amount of
service...always there, but not in your face. They offered complimentary wine
and cheese in their bar every day from 4:00 - 5:00 with generous glasses of wine
and portions of cheese. The service in the bar was excellent, we ended up eating
there many nights during our stay. Our room was perfect and they even upgraded
us to a superior room upon arrival. The spa and workout facilities were perfect!
The outdoor hot tub and pools were amazing, the hotel was in a great location,
walking distance to everything. The ski concierge were so friendly, easy and
helpful as well. I have already called them to reserve for next winter!
