Hotel Review of the
Executive Inn At Whistler Village

The hotel was very nice. The bathroom was kinda small because the door opens
inward. But, the hotel charges for everything. Internet was very expensive, but
SLOW! For a romantic spot though, I would recommend it.

We chose this hotel because it looked and sounded wonderful on their website. We
had the queen loft suite. We liked: it was clean; had a small private deck and
was within walking distance to everything. We didn't like: The girl with the
dark hair at reception was not friendly at all (not to be confused with the
woman with the accent who was pleasant). We needed a map to find our room. Up to
the third floor through a winding maze of hallway, down 2 flights of stair and
then up 2 and no signs to help you.The room seemed very small, the "loft" had
room for the queen bed that was tucked into a space just big enough for the bed
and a dresser. You had to crawl over each other to get out from the inside; no
TV in the loft, not a big fan of TV in the bedroom but on a holiday it's kind of
nice; no safe; the woodburning fireplaces are a big part of their advertising
but what they don't tell you is that you have to pay $5 for a firelog. We asked
for an ironing board and were told that if we wanted it right away we should
come and get it ourselves otherwise it would be an hour before someone could
bring it. We went and got the little 1/2 ironing board that wouldn't even stand
up and we ended up using the chair with a towel on it..
I'm not usually a complainer but I feel this hotel's advertising was very
misleading. It is definitely not a "boutique luxury" hotel.

This hotel is clean, comfortable and in a prime location. Located just a few
steps away from shopping, dining, skiing and the bar scene. We were a bit
disappointed that the kitchen did not include an oven as we had purchased a
pizza to bake prior to checking in. There was a microwave, stove top, mini
fridge/freezer section, utensils, plates, bowls, cups, coffee maker, kettle,
pots, and a toaster. There wasn't a dishwasher. The staff at this hotel were
very kind and exceeded my expectations. You have many accommodation options in
Whistler and this is certainly a good one.
Room Tip: We stayed in room 307, which is not facing the village. We had more
privacy in that room due to the trees on the other side of the street, and I am
sure it was quieter than the village side.

Absolutely great location, just a couple steps to the lifts. Nice little kitchen
with all you need, bathroom was clean and everything worked more than well.
Cabinet drier for wet clothes was only thing we missed. We have travelled a lot,
and can say that many European hotels in Alps are really much older style
furnished. We can warmly recommend thist renovated hotel.

We chose this hotel on the basis that it was the cheapest deal for a decent
central hotel in Whistler when we booked and we decided that we didn't need
extra facilities such as a pool or sauna (the hotel has no common areas to speak
of and a small reception area). I can't talk about value as with the current £
exchange rate everything in Whistler seems very expensive! We were broadly happy
with our choice primarily due to the price but felt we might have been better
off at the Adara which was our other option. We were in a queen loft suite on
the fourth floor and found the room fine if quite dark decor and oddly shaped -
with limited space to put things - which gave it a poky feeling. There is a fire
but you have to pay $5 for a log downstairs to use it. The AC/heater is quite
noisy but we switched it off at night. Our main gripe was with the sleeping
arrangements. The bed was on a mezzanine level under the slanting roof. It makes
the room a bit different from the standard, but we found that on one side of the
bed you can't sit up without banging your head on the beam and on the other you
have to clamber over the bed to go downstairs. The pillows were absolutely
terrible - these were thick hard foam which were uncomfortable enough for us to
ditch them altogether - which didn't make for the most comfortable nights'
sleep. The bed also rolled/had a dip in the middle. Pros were the bathroom
which, while compact, was modern and clean with a sizeable and powerful walk-in
shower. Also the location right on the main stroll opposite the Hilton and about
a minute from the ski lifts (although most of the main hotels seem to be within
1-2m range of the lifts). We weren't disturbed by any noise at night although
our room was on the stroll side. Overall, I probably wouldn't stay here again
unless there was a really good deal available.
