Hotel Review of the Adara Hotel Whistler
Feb 23, 2010
We enjoyed this hotel. It’s right in the village. The rooms are quirky and cool.
I especially appreciated all of the in-room amenities such as a fridge,
fireplace and place to store your ski stuff in your room. With that being said,
it’s a 3.5 star hotel in my opinion just due to the older nature of the hotel.
The new design though is very modern and the rooms are cool

The staff at the Adara were very friendly and helpful. The rooms and the lobby
were done nicely and seemed to be renovated because the hallways looked quite
old. The hot tub was very small and did not have a very nice atmosphere at all.
It was a fine hotel if you want to save some money and stay in the village, but
not if you are looking for luxury.

My boyfriend and I stayed here Jan 2010. We were very disappointed, we did not
think it should have been rated as a four star hotel and we did not think it was
good value for money at all!...
We were not provided with items that were advertised on the web site, room was
dusty, bed sheets were not changed during our stay, things in the room were
starting to look cheap and nasty and there was a small leak by our back door,
generally a poor finish throughout the room. We could even hear the next room's
T.V and there was not enough space to dry ski gear. The only good thing about it
was location, as it was in the centre of Whistler village, the staff were very
friendly and we were provided with a lap top, as there was wireless in every
room. However, for a four star hotel, this lacked this lacked quality and
amenities you would have expected from a four star. The hallways were similar to
a hostel and painted in dark grey and the not very luxurious at all.
There are lots of other hotels in Whistler, which I am sure would provide a
satisfying stay and more value value for .
Hotel Review of the Adara Hotel Whistler

My wife and I stayed at the Adara during the Christmas holiday. I was expecting
a really snazzy "Boutique" hotel, worthy of the $572 nightly rate. What we got
was a rather ordinary hotel. The hallmark feature of the Adara is its modern
decor, which seemed a little weird to me. I guess if modern design is your
thing, it might grab you. The hot tub was small and cramped. The lobby was
attractive with a fireplace, but not the kind of place in which you'd like to
hang out. The room was clean and comfortable (and modern), but it wasn't
special. We had an "OK" view of the mountains. None of the rooms had a really
great view. We were on the "Quiet side" of the building, but I understand that
the rooms over the nightclub can be very noisy.
On the bright side, the location was great, just off the main village
thoroughfare and a short walk to the lifts. The hotel staff was delightful. They
could not have been more friendly and helpful. When we asked for our safe to be
fixed (for some reason, it was not attached to the wall), it was taken care of
immediately. There is nothing wrong with the Adara, but the pictures on the
website look so much better than the real thing. I think this is a $350 hotel
masquerading as a $572 hotel.

The location was fantastic and likely the main reason to stay at the Adara. We
were steps away from top restaurants, and was able to wander throughout Whistler
during the weekend without our car. And yes, the trade-off with being in the
center of the village is noise. Buffalo Bill's is right below, so loud music
until 2 a.m. and rowdy crowds pouring out until around 3 a.m. is to be expected.
If you're looking for a luxurious feel, then this is not the hotel for you. The
room was clean, but minimal in decor; the bathroom was the same. Some elements
of the room was awkward: the divider for the shower was insufficient so water
splattered out to the rest of the washroom; the shower temperature was
inconsistent; the room safe was placed on a small stool/table that could easily
be removed from the room (which in my mind, rather defeats the purpose).
There are no additional amenities aside from a very small hot tub. Granted, a
gym is easily accessible, and several restaurants surround the hotel, but it
would be nice to have the option not to brave the cold. It may be time to give
the hotel a facelift as well, as the elevator door does not shut completely and
some rooms' doors have noticeable scratches and peeling paint.
As for service, the valet was particularly helpful and very accommodating;
however, those at check-in did not seem to understand the concept of customer
service very well. Answers were short and the impression I got, was that they
would rather be somewhere else.
At the end of the stay, while it was pleasant enough, there was nothing that
made me say, "Wow!" Hotel Review of the Adara Hotel Whistler

The location is great (if you want to be in the village) and the staff are
friendly and helpful. Some of the items in our loft-style room had seen better
days (i.e. coffee table falling apart) but it was a quiet & restful stay for us.
There are good toiletries provided (Fresh products) and the room was clean. I
would stay here again.
When we checked out, we found out that there is a breakfast delivery option from
a nearby restaurant. We wished we'd known about it while we were guests of the
hotel, as nothing else is really open in the village for an early breakfast.

Stayed at the Adara Hotel Whistler to celebrate my birthday with my fiance. It
was such an amazing experience. Everything from the lobby to the room was
perfect. The staff of this hotel are great - they are so helpful with anything
you need. The location is great - close to the bars, restaurants and the
mountain. I would stay here again - and will stay here again. I would suggest
this hotel to anyone! You will love it!

A very cool and hip room, like The Block hotel at Lake Tahoe. Loud at night due
to the great location in Whistler, but they do provide earplugs and white noise
machine in the room. Pluses, great location and service, very cool faux-fur
throw, rainfall showerhead and iPod docking station. |
