Hotel Review of the Hilton
Whistler Hotel & Spa
Jan 11, 2010
We try to get over to Whistler every year and this was our fifth stay at the
Hilton. As per usual, we were treated like royalty. We also rent our skis from
Summit and it's in the hotel basement which is ideal.
We had a lovely room once again. We like to stay on a high floor in the North
tower and we had a balcony room over looking the pool with a fire and a Jacuzzi
bath (for 2).
The staff that we see every year are always welcoming and remember us from
previous stays. It's quite nice to have that homely feel and it's something we
look forward to.
Nice meals this time were at Hy's for great steak and Umberto's (Village Stroll)
for exquisite Italian.
On NYE we went to Araxi again. We've eaten there many times and always have a
brilliant evening. Sadly this year I think they let themselves down. The meal
was barely adequate, which made the price seem extortionate, a for $200 each it
would have been nice to get a glass of bubbles!!
Only a tiny criticism for the Hilton and that's in regard to the internet. When
we checked in, we were told that the internet connection was free as Hilton
Honours Diamond Members. I checked that this was the wireless internet and this
was confirmed. Sadly when we checked out, I was told this was not the case and
it's the wired internet that's free.
However we'll be back again next year (fingers crossed).

The staff was friendly. The hotel was located right next to the slopes. The
hotel was well maintained and clean. We even had a small kitchen in our hotel
room

Location was GREAT in relation to the ski lift as well as being just far away
from the night life that we never heard it but were close enough to be there in
a 1 minute walk. We were given a room on the courtyard side - not much of a view
but we NEVER heard another guest and they were, apparently, full for the
holidays!!. Love our kitchenette as I did get a little sick of eating out all
the time, I was pleased that I was able to do some cooking. Staff very helpful
and two maintenance things were fixed promptly and without issue. Great job,
Hilton Whistler!!!

Hilton hotel was great, the room was amazing with a fireplace, and extremely
comfortable bed and cozy. It had a nice spa, Jacuzzi and pool (which we did not
use due to the 0 degree weather). But the staff was accommodating and very nice.
I would love to go back to Whistler and stay there. In addition, the hotel is
very centrally located, it was perfect, we had all the tours/activities around
us restaurants and ski lift. I really recommend this hotel to anyone and
especially for honeymooners, it's a cozy get away if you want to snuggle up and
ski!!! One final thing, i left my cel. phone there, they had found it
immediately and contacted me, they also sent it by UPS at no add'l charge. Thank
you Hilton!

My husband and I booked through Priceline and got a great rate, however, there
was no record of our booking when we arrived. The staff was amazing. They
upgraded us twice and the rate we were scheduled to receive and compt our
parking (3 days at $25.00 each). We would not hesitate to stay again. The rooms
were very nice, clean and comfortable. It's location was also great, next to the
gondola.

A friend and I stayed at Hilton Resort for a weekend in August 2009. The best
part about the hotel is the location. You could park in their underground
parking for a fee and not worry about driving to get to the village. Their staff
was friendly; however, both my friend and I thought the beds were stiff and
uncomfortable.
I would recommend this hotel if they had a discount/special deal. Hotel Review of the Hilton

The Hilton is situated right in the middle of the main whistler resort. which is
a great location! Hotel room, was lovely and clean with a kitchen in the
bedroom! Not huge, but plush! Whistler is expensive and so you don't get much
for your money, but this ticks the boxes!! A must is to eat at the Mongolian
Restaurant in the main street, wonderful food and great atmosphere! You choose
the ingredients for your stir fry (which is an extensive selection) and they
cook it there in front of you, whilst cheering and banging things, it's great!
Food tasted amazing!! Good price too! Also another must is the Peak to Peak! I
was in 2 minds, as I don't like heights, but it was beautiful! The open chair
lift on the way down (something I was really nervous about) was the best, and
the views and the peace and quiet make you forget the height (which actually
isn't too much, as you run along parallel to the ground)! Look at for all the
wild animals there!!Hotel Review of the Hilton

The Hotel is situated in Whistler Village. During our stay there was a business
conference taking place, lots of people thronging the public areas day and
night. Rooms spacious. Breakfast good. Too commercialised not homely.

The Hilton Hotel Whistler is in a excellent location with a friendly and helpful
staff. Well appointed rooms. Not all channels on TV, wireless internet. My GF
and I spent 2 nights at this hotel. The check in process was speedy and valet
took care of our car. The prices for parking are a bit steep but so is
everything else in Whistler. Upon arriving into the room we were happy with the
amenities in the room, a small kitchen with a stove, all utensils, a fridge,
coffee maker and water heater. Nice LCD TV, but not all channels that our
normally available were available. Internet had to pay $25 for 2 days and it was
too slow. The concierge was great, overall a good stay.

I normally can expect a good facility with a Hilton. The main complaint I had
was w/ the fact that the beds were like large doubles & not queen size so my
girlfriend ended up sleeping separately, which isn't a preferred situation. Also
guest services missed our AM wake-up call(a 1st for me) & I was stressed getting
2 the airport because of the road construction going on in advance of the 2010
Olympics. Outside of that the staff throughout the Hilton Hotel Whistler
couldn't have been nicer & more attentive. |
