picked up a one night stay at hotwire and were very pleased with
outcome. We were given a studio facing the forest uphill, which did not
have much of a view but was very quiet. the studio was well equipped,
clean and even came with two nice quality bath robes, excellent for
heading down to the outdoor pool and two hot tubs. The bed was nice.
with good quality mattress and nice bedside lighting. Room had a lovely
gas fireplace and small but nice balcony .Hide-a-bed couch was lousy to
sit on for any length of time, but that is a minor point. Fitness room
is pretty basic with three exercise machines and a few weights.
Our stay included breakfast which was quite good. The staff were helpful
and courteous. would stay again for sure

There are many positives about the Coast and only one minor negative,
The negative is that you need to take a shuttle back and forth to the
village or pay for a cab ($10 at most). We walked down the slope for
apres ski and found it a lot of fun, and shuttles are frequent and run
until 2:00 am.
The positives: slope side /ski in: ski out; Jacuzzi; GREAT staff; Rooms
have full kitchens and full size fridge; ski storage; underground
parking; family atmosphere; laundry facility on each floor.
THE TRUTH: the breakfasts are well stocked and there is a high turnover
of diners. Anyone that complains about lack of table space lacks
credibility. We are there to ski - nobody lingers at the table. If you
need to, you can load a cafeteria tray with food, fruits and beverages
(incl. Starbucks coffee) and eat in the room - which we did one out of 8
days. Disregard the negative comments - you aren't expecting a 5 course
meal at the Ritz!-there are lots of choices and plenty of food.
I was fearful of some of the "noisy college kids" complaints. We
experienced nothing of the sort. I would comment that with people in ski
boots walking the hallways above your floor, I wish there was slightly
better sound proofing, but there was nothing significant to worry about.
I WISH they had a full service rest. +/- bar, but we survived without
them.
All in all the Coast was a great value for families that like the luxury
of ski in / ski out. Nothing else at Whistler compares.

Great place to stay with large family. Ski rentals in building. Good
breakfast included. Nice hot tubs & pool. Be on Blackcomb side when
lifts close. Hard to ski back if at base of Whistler even riding lift
over.

kitchenette has coffee maker, stove, microwave, dishwasher (soap
provided! yes!), toaster, fridge, sink with garbage disposal, dishes,
pots, cutlery. laundrette on this floor has 3 washers and 4 dryers.
other floors have laundrette also.
breakfast is comparable to breakfasts provided by other chains.
scrambled eggs, sausage patties, 4 kinds cold cereal, hot oatmeal, 4
kinds of bread you can toast, yogurt, fresh fruit.
I'm happy to say the sofa bed was comfortable--I usually have trouble
sleeping on sofa beds.

Just returned from a 2 day skiing with 5 friends. I must say that I was
a little sceptical of this hotel (due to the cost). The hotel staff were
great, very helpful. The location was awesome, away from busy main
village, ski-in ski-out location along the Wizard ski hill, can't ask
for any better location. Buses are accessible at front of hotel, no cost
whatsoever, travel to village and back, 10 min ride. The 2 rooms suite
is what we had, very ample for 5 people, 2 full bathrooms, kitchen, plus
underground parking...
Now, the breakfast is was alright, then again its better something than
nothing. lots of fruits, waffles, milk, coffee...basic breakfast, look
at it as a bonus.
Overall, great weekend, great hotel, I will most definitely returned to
this place. |
