Guest Review of the Westin Hotel Bear Mountain Victoria

I stayed here on business for a treat. The rooms were advertized at very low
prices. To be fair, the room was way nicer than anywhere else you would stay at
that price range in the Victoria area and there are very few hotels in Langford.
However, when I checked my credit card later, I saw several separate charges,
some unexpected. I was charged $12 for two small bottles of water which I
assumed were free because there was nothing telling my otherwise and lots of
hotels I stay at offer free water. Who charges $6 for a small bottle of water?
There was the resort fee and I had only stayed to sleep, didn't even go past the
lobby, so that felt like a bit of a ripoff. There was room service which I was
aware of but all the charges built in added up. The eventual cost for such a
brief trip did muddy what was a great overall first impression. Gorgeous room,
lovely bath, felt luxurious and comfortable and had a balcony, albeit no real
view. In my opinion, there isn't a lot to do in the Langford area to draw me
there for any other reason than business. I enjoyed it but probably wouldn't go
back unless my expense account was raised and that's not going to happen soon.

Fantastic atmosphere in the hotel lobby and lounge area itself with amazing
views across some of the holes of the the golf courses. We stayed in the Fairway
lodgings and were blessed with a corner suite with lots of windows and a balcony
overlooking the first hole of the mountain course. Amenities in the suite were
fantastic from beds through to bathroom which had a separate bath and shower (a
real bonus). The health facilities were fantastic with a number of gym areas and
the outdoor pool looked stunning (shame we ran out of time to try it). Staff
were great, restaurants and bar were also very good and good value. I would
happily have stayed for longer than the three nights we had. And let's not
forget about the golf courses, both were a real challenge but awesome to play
and the pro shop and staff were very attentive. Thanks to all at Bear mountain
resort. Will definitely be back.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Westin Bear Mountain Resort. It is truly a
beautiful setting on top ofr the mountain. Close to Victoria and easily
accessible. The food was well prepared and presented. Good wine list. Excellent
service. Very friendly staff who were very accommodating. Will return again
soon.

Stayed here to visit my husband going to Royal Roads U.
My 3yr old daughter got sick right before we arrived and was still sick when we
left. this left me in room most of the time with one sick kid and one active 5yr
old. It was easy to keep the 5yr old entertained with toys from home and the tv
and dvd player in the living room. It's a large suite so he could make noise and
not wake up his sister in the other room. We had friends over for dinner one
night and the kitchen worked out great as did the dining area. The second tv in
the bedroom came in handy when my daughter decided she wanted quiet time.
I really appreciated the light dimmer switches and the different lighting
options. There are a lot of light switches. It let me create lit areas without
disturbing the kids while they slept.
I have to assume the heavenly bed was comfortable. The children took it over and
they both slept longer than usual. The queen pull-out was decently comfortable.
The room already had extra pillows and a blanket.
The room has a separate bathroom with shower which was also a bonus to not
disturb sleeping children.
Grocery shopping is close by as well as a pharmacy open at 8am (IDA Rexall).
Can't comment on the rest of the resort but there's a lot be said when you can
be stuck in a room for two days with two little kids and still be comfortable.
Wished we could've have gotten out to the pool. :(
Staff were friendly. In room dining was always prompt.

We have stayed at the Bear Mountain Westin twice now. Once in March and once in
December. The rooms are spacious and well designed. The bathroom is great with a
two head shower and separate full jet tub. Rooms also have a mini kitchenette.
The balconies are great with room for a dozen people and are longer than
traditional balconies. They have a side table and two lounge chairs. It was
really nice to sit outside in our bathrobes, drink coffee, and look at the hazed
valley. Make sure you ask for a valley view and a higher floor to get the full
effect. The spa is great, there several restaurants to choose from and we loved
the pool and gym (full gym complex). We also hiked up Mount Finlayson which is
accessible from the hotel. The views were amazing. Don’t try it unless you have
proper shoes though, its steep and very rocky. I would recommend this hotel to
my friends and family. Enjoy your stay.
