Stayed on the 4th floor of the Erickson Wing while at
the hotel for a wedding. Our room was spacious, bright,
and well-appointed. The king size bed, large, luxurious
bathroom and contemporary chaise lounge all added to the
sumptuousness of the room. We ordered room service for
breakfast and were both impressed by our meals, however,
be warned, the coffee is very strong! I would recommend
the Inn at Laurel Point to those looking for a high-end,
luxurious hotel on the water.

I recently stayed 1 night at Inn at Laurel Point (IALP)
while on a short stop in Victoria to visit Butchart
Gardens. Laurel Point is the junction of Victoria's
outer and inner harbors and a short walk from the
Victoria, BC to Port Angeles, WA ferry terminal, the
Legislative Assembly of BC building, the historic
Fairmont Empress Hotel with its afternoon tea, and many
excellent nearby restaurants.
IALP is a large waterfront hotel of modern design with
135 rooms and family suites in the Laurel Wing and 65
luxury suites in the Erickson Wing. The public areas of
the hotel contain an impressive collection of Native and
Asian art. IALP has a most excellent web site which goes
into great detail describing the property and its
amenities, and the various room types and prices.
I stayed in a king bed room in the Laurel Wing with a
view of the outer harbor and the property's Japanese
garden and pond. My room was the least expensive on the
property and I found it to be well appointed, large,
quiet, clean and very comfortable. The photos on the
hotel's web site very accurately described my room.
I only ate 1 breakfast here in Aura which has both
indoor and outdoor dining options. The food and service
were very good.
IALP is per friendly and provides a doggie bed,
stainless steel bowls, bottled water and delectable
doggie treats. Also, Ruby, a cute young chocolate lab
owned by an employee, is the official lobby greeter.
The hotel has an indoor swimming pool and an exercise
room but I did not use them during my short stay.
I was quite happy here and was sorry I wasn't staying
longer.
Food lover's tip: If you love seafood, do not miss
Pescatore's Fish House & Oyster Bar on Humboldt Street
across from the The Empress.

We stayed in a terrace suite which had huge outside
porch, large bathroom, separate living room with a pull
out couch. All nicely decorated in a Japanese style.
Spacious. Location looked out on Victoria harbor with
the floatplanes taking off and landing, ferries and
whale watch cruises coming in and out. ~10min walk into
town. Would highly recommend. |
