Guest Review of the Magnolia Hotel Victoria

We stayed here for 3 nights, and were very pleased with everything about the
hotel. The rooms are very large with lots of windows, nice views, nice
bathrooms, comfortable beds, and great robes. The buffet breakfast was also
excellent, and included in the price. I think it would be difficult to find a
better hotel value anywhere in Victoria that offers this level of comfort and
service for a great price.

My husband and I used to live in Victoria so we were familiar with The Magnolia,
and decided to try it out. The location is excellent, perfect for exploring
downtown.
The service is great, everyone was very friendly. The lobby seemed a bit tired,
but decent. There was complimentary coffee and tea which was a nice touch.
Our room was nice, lovely furniture and a fireplace. The bathtub was tiny and
the bathroom felt dingy, but they did provide razors which was great since I'd
forgotten mine!
The view was....disappointing. Yes, we could see a bit of the harbor, but it was
overshadowed by the rooftops covered in seagull droppings. It was disgusting! I
realize there's nothing the hotel can do about it, but it certainly detracts
from what could be a lovely view.
I had a pedicure at the spa and it was wonderful! The spa is beautiful, and
everyone was super friendly. The Aveda products are excellent.

This hotel exceeded all of my expectations. I chose this hotel based on reviews
from several sites and the Magnolia did not disappoint. With a small amount of
rooms the attention to detail, including turn down service and prompt responses
to requests were common place. The fitness center was small, but again with a
small clientele it was not an issue. Another example of there consideration for
their guests was upon returning to the hotel after a run, the bell man
graciously offered me a fresh bottle of water.
The morning buffet was extensive, including toasted products, patries, hard
boiled eggs, coffee, juice tea, oatmeal, cereal, fresh fruit and yogurt. It was
lovely to sit by the windows for breakfast and enjoys the sights and sounds of
the city.
The hotel was located convenient to the main street where all the touristy shops
are located as well as only three blocks from the harbor. Quiet at night and
convenient to the attractions.
The in room fireplace was a nice treat as well as the well appointed bathroom
with marble counter tops and a roomy stand up shower. The tub was magnificent
for soaking after a long day sightseeing in the city. The beds were quite
comfortable with more than enough pillows for sleeping.
I did use the spa during my stay and was happy with the services I received. The
treatment room well lit and had high ceilings. The relaxation room was
sufficient. My only suggestion wound have been a steam room or whirlpool in the
spa.
The hotel is a great hidden gem in the city and the staff should be commended
for their genuine hospitality.
Room Tip: We had a corner room on the 6th floor. It was a larger room, but
without a harbor view.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Friendly and co-operative staff. The room was
bright, clean and pleasing to the eye. The chocolates that were left upon
arrival and during turndown service were greatly appreciated and enjoyed. The
beds were very comfortable with lots of pillows and a downy quilt. The amenities
in the bathroom were top of the line. We ate in the Prime Restaurant and
received pleasant service and the food was amazing. We would most certainly
return to this hotel. We are both seniors and would recommend this hotel to
other seniors. Our only criticism is that the hotel could have HD on their t.v.
sets.

We stayed two nights at the Magnolia, a small, elegant hotel with one of the
best locations in Victoria. We walked with our bags from the bus station, where
we arrived after a ferry ride from Vancouver. After checking out we walked to
the seaplane terminal; both trips were easy, even for older folks. We upgraded
to a corner room, which had a limited view because we were on the second floor,
but it was very comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was magnificent.
Breakfast was continental but was ample and tasty. Victoria is beyond charming, |
