Guest Review of the Harbour Towers Hotel Victoria

We stayed here for one night, but would have been happy
to stay longer. We were put in a suite on the 12th floor
which had a great view of the harbour.
The suite had two bedrooms, large bathroom, upstairs
lounge and kitchen. There was balconies from the
bedrooms and the lounge upstairs. The suite was very
nice and clean.
The hotel has underground parking and is free for guests
staying at the hotel. It is a great location for the
harbour, the shops etc. We also used the hotel
restaurant which was very good food and service.
We would definitely stay here gain.

First time at this hotel in Victoria for us and we were
not disappointed. We had a suite on the 10th floor (room
1001), with a harbour view. Is worth asking for this
view as the sunsets and sunrise were terrific.
Room could use a bit of a update re. colour scheme, some
furniture, and the custodial care could use a bit of
supervisory attention to detail as some areas of the
various rooms were missed but overall it was pleasant.
Location is great as you are a block of the east side of
the harbour, quieter and less busy, with a very nice
park nearby. An early morning walk on the side streets
was a treat. Food in the restaurant (Vic's) was good,
service very good. You have access to all things at the
harbour with a pleasant 5 minute walk. Lots of
restaurants within minutes.
Had to wait till 4;30 to get our room, even though we
showed up at 10;30 and the staff member said she would
see that it was ready earlier than the 4;00 check in.
When we arrived at 4;00 it still was not ready. This was
the only service element that did not meet their overall
standard. Staff at Vic's was particularly good.
Nice stay....would stay again.

We secured this hotel through price line - seemed like a
good deal but was not great - hotel very basic and
somewhat run down, rate was not inexpensive - nearby was
Best Western and on the waterfront - Days Inn which
would have been better options at this price point.
Pictures shown of the room with a kitchenette - were
pretty deceptive.

We have stayed here for the past 4 years in a row (at
least 4 nights per trip). In the past, we have enjoyed
the location, the bed and breakfast rate and
accommodating staff. This year, we have enjoyed only the
location. Guess they can't screw with that. Otherwise,
the rates have gone way up, with no corresponding
increase in quality or service, and we were shocked with
the lack of staff attitude. Only after arriving
(notwithstanding our reservation two months before) were
we informed that the electricity would be out from 9am
to 3pm one day. When we called the general manager, he
could care less, advising that it was really only the
elevators which would be out of service. We, and all
guests, were free to take the stairwell. All good, so
far, except that we were on the 7th floor (out of 12).
The schlepp up and down was not our idea of a relaxing
vacation. We enjoy a little exercise, but come on,
folks. BTW, the gm left on vacation the same day. Guess
he wasn't up to taking the stairs. |
