Guest Review of the Best Western Plus Carlton Plaza Victoria BC

We only spent one night in charming Victoria, but we were very impressed with
the service we received at this Best Western, especially for the price! And to
top it off, they had free bikes in the lobby that we were able to borrow for the
morning (complete with helmets and new water bottles), which was a great way to
tour the city.

Wonderful stay beginning with early check in. We arrived via ferry and found
that our room was available at 1030. Manami had already upgraded our room to a
very large 6th floor suite complete with a kitchenette that included stove,
microwave, pots and pans, dishes, refrigerator, silverware. 2 bottles of water
free each day, and even detergent for washing up. Large screen TV( no HD
channels though). A/C worked great. Very clean. Large bathroom. Robes included
in room. Free bikes which we used. Newspapers each morning. Free computer in
lobby. Bed linens very comfy. Whale watching package that was included in price
very well done.
All staff were very friendly and helpful. Manami and Rachel were notable. Free
parking and valet service efficient. Location easy walking distance to
Chinatown, local restaurants, downtown Victoria, bus lines, and many
restaurants.
I was worried about bar noise but minimal disturbance from 6th floor.
Very minor cons: bed very hard (although my wife liked it). No body lotion
provided. Some towels thinner than expected.
Overall excellent stay and I would highly recommend this hotel for stay in
Victoria.

We got to the hotel in the morning because of an early flight. We only expected
the hotel to offer to keep our baggage in storage while we attended a funeral up
the street. The front desk clerk found us an upgrade room ready so that we could
rest and freshen up. The staff was very uplifting, kind and accommodating. The
location was perfect for walking and experiencing down-town Victoria too. We
would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel.

All staff were extremely courteous and friendly. Great location for accessing
shopping, sightseeing, dining and local events. Very accommodating --- we had a
pet-friendly room. Booked with AIr Miles but they do have reasonable rates for
our next visit.

My husband, myself and our 3 young adult children were at a family wedding
outside of Victoria on August 13, 2011. We had a suite which was 2 double beds,
a sofa bed and a single cot. There was a fridge (which we used for cold drinks)
and a stove, coffeepot, etc, which we did not. Staff let us in early to change
and go. Free valet parking was good - they asked for a 10 minute request and the
car was always there. We had no problem dropping off the car any time. The beds
were comfortable and the room was very clean. The bathroom was small but towels
and amenities were ready for us. We checked out easily and were half way through
town when I remembered my pillow. Back at the hotel Rachel, at the front desk,
and Chris Watson, the Front Office Manager were very helpful, above and beyond
the call of duty I would say. The housekeeping staff had found another pillow,
not mine. When they got back to say the room had not been scheduled for
cleaning, Chris took me to the room our family had and there was my pillow!
Rachel had taken my address to mail me the pillow (well at least the case, that
is what I really wanted) if it showed up. We checked out earlier than our
original plan and the service remained excellent. I recommend this hotel for our
type of family vacation: for those who want to be out and about but don't like
to round up the troops for breakfast elsewhere. |
