Nice & clean but I could hear loud noise from the next door taking shower, it's
ridiculously loud. For a hotel like this, it's very disappointing.

Stayed at the Magnolia Hotel in early September for 4 nights with my teenage
daughter and we both very much enjoyed. The hotel staff was welcoming and very
accommodating - especially enjoyed the helpful valet parking staff. Our hotel
room was large, very nicely furnished, exceptionally clean and the bed was
extremely comfortable. The fluffy bathrobes were a nice touch!!
The location is very central and within easy walking distance of all the main
attractions and harbour. We appreciated the secure valet parking arcade
available under the hotel since our car was packed with lots of additional items
which my daughter was taking with her to university. Would highly recommend and
definitely stay at the Magnolia Hotel again.

I'm not going to write about the hotel or its amenities since other reviewers
have done a fabulous job in doing so. I am going to write about the excellent
customer service the Magnolia provides.
In June of 2011, we stayed at the Magnolia Hotel. There were some issues and I
was not happy. When I came home, I wrote a poor review on the Magnolia. To my
complete surprise, I received an email from Bill Lewis, the hotel manager,
asking me if we could talk. He called me from Canada (I live in California) and
discussed the problems I had during my stay. He was very upset by what happened
(the problems weren't catasrophic, just poor service) and apologized profusely.
Not only did he listen to me and NOT make excuses, but he compensated me quite
generously. I was overwhelmed with his care, kindness and willingness to go
above and beyond the typical customer service.
Will problems come up at the hotels we stay in? Yes. Can every vacation be
perfect? No! But, when a manager is willing to listen to his customers and even
more willing to "make up" for poor service, that is perfection in my book. We
LOVE to vacation in Victoria and go every couple of years. We will DEFINITELY
return to the Magnolia Hotel and Spa next time. And hopefully, I will get a
chance to thank Bill Lewis in person. He is an asset to Magnolia and the hotel

This was a special occasion for my wife and I and we were treated with great
attention to detail, kindness and respect. We did feel special thanks to the
service and staff. Our supper at the steak house was beyond expectations. We are
already planning our next stay
