Hotel Review of the Laurel Point Inn Victoria
28 September 2011
We stayed 2 nights. We were not in the best part of the
hotel but the room was fine with a view out to sea. We
ate in the bar on the first night and just had the
cheese platter with a choice of 5 cheeses delicious. The
barman Peter was charming very chatty and helpful. The 2
nd night we ate in their restaurant I had the lamb and
it was superb as good as any top London restaurants I
have eaten in, again the staff were delightful and the
maitre d very helpful.

This is a wonderful property. Great views of the harbor
and just a short walk to Fisherman's Wharf, downtown and
almost right next door to the ferry (Victoria Clipper).
Stayed in a king junior suite in the Ericson Wing, was a
little more expensive but well worth every penny. The
Beds Are Amazing....... While traveling through
Washington and BC, my husband and I stayed in 6
different hotels and BBs and by far this hotel had the
best beds! We will definitely stay here again.

Great hotel, nice location out on the point across the
bay. Great breakfasts too.
We were given the laurel wing to start with but then
upgraded to the second wing in the hotel which was like
a different place! The upgrade room was on the second
wing and amazing with spacious room, views across the
bay, amazing bathrooms!
We weren't sure we were in the right room to begin with
so asked at the reception to upgrade who did eventually
for a fee but the receptionist was a bit funny to begin
with but ok (Kennis)
All in all a good stay, and the night time dinner was
lovely too. A great fish and chips done in a posh style
which was lovely.
Ask for an upgrade when you arrive -it's worth it!

This is the second year my wife and I stayed at the
Laurel Point Inn on August 25th.
The hotel is very beautiful. The rooms are new and all
views fantastic. Our tub was a bit dirty (but that issue
was resolved ASAP).
Our bigger problem is that the check in is very late,
and for the second year in a row to get a late checkout
is IMPOSSIBLE. 11AM checkout. We celebrate our birthdays
on this date and sleeping in and enjoying a lazy
breakfast in bed and roll out around 2 or so would be
the best.
We will not book next year but we do enjoy the Laurel.
We stay over 120 nights a year in hotels and we simply
are not used to such rigid times and inflexible tables,
or staff simply not accommodating. |
