Me and my girlfriend stayed at the Gatsby Mansion two weeks ago. At first, we
thought the restaurant and the main floor looked very rustic and beautiful.
After we checked in, we were not impressed. The room was so small, the garbage
in the bathroom was full and the smell was disgusting. If there was a ghost
living there, I'm sure it left because they couldn't bare the smell. We stayed
for dinner and we were not pleased considering it was suppose to be a
'fine-dining' restaurant. The food tasted okay but the presentation wasn't
great. Me and my girlfriend agreed that staying at the days inn across the
street and going to Mcdonalds for dinner would of been a better choice. At least
we would of saved money and had the same experience. To sum up, we will not be
back any time soon!

This was my boyfriend's and I first time staying in a b&b and impressed is an
under statement! Stan welcomed us immediately and Caroline took care of us the

The facade and gardens were lovely and so the expectation was high. Much to our
horror the rooms were FILTHY! There were bugs and larvae captured on a glue pad
under the bed...yuck! The carpets were so dirty, you were afraid to walk on
them. The second room was no better. It is obvious the owner robs patrons blind
by charging outrageous prices (food & accommodations) and doesn't put any money
back into the property by way of up keep or maintenance.

I left some items behind during my stay at the Gatsby Mansion and found Caroline
very helpful in not only locating my items, but handling many phone calls back
and forth until the item was found, with patience and kindness. She never seemed
impatient with my calls and was very helpful in every sense, down to making sure
the items would get to me; even asking me to call her back when they were
received. I am grateful to Caroline personally for her consistent patience and
helpfulness. thank you Caroline

Three weeks ago at the beginning of the week, I came down with my family from
Calgary to have a quick get away vacation in the spur of the moment. We did not
have much planned so I obviously did not book any hotel ahead of time. Our first
stop was at the Gatsby Mansion. Seemed like a very nice cozy place for our small
family to stay. I came in to ask for the rates but there seemed to be no one at
the front to answer. I waited for about 20 minutes until an older woman finally
came to the front desk. She seemed a little stressed and very short tempered
with me. I simply wanted to ask how much it was to stay and she was CLEARLY too
busy to answer me in a polite manner. I then was too fed up and walked out and
stayed at Harbor Towers where their customer service seemed to be a bit more
classy. Although we did not stay at the Gatsby Mansion, we did want to go there
for dinner because it seemed like a very nice fine dining restaurant so I called
over just after 3pm to make some reservations but it seemed like they didn't
know how to answer phones. It rang 14 times before I just hung up! JUST
TERRIBLE!! |
