Review of the Abigails Bed Breakfast Hotel Victoria
26 October 2011
My husband booked a surprise trip for us to Victoria, BC based on a deal he
found for Abigail's on Jetsetter. I had no idea where we were going and was so
excited when I found out it was Victoria. Then we arrived at Abigail's and I
immediately fell in love. The location is perfect, central to everything in
Victoria & a great starting point for seeing more of the island. It is
beautifully kept, you get a fresh baked cookie on your bed when you arrive
(forget those dinky little chocolates!), they have appetizers at 5:00 in the
library and the super-friendly staff are experts at everything Victoria (thank
you, Bobby, for the Cafe Brio recommendation!). Chef Matt's breakfasts were
delicious, creative and we couldn't get enough! My husband is now a yogurt &
granola fiend & insists we make Matt's homemade granola! Thanks for that, Chef
Matt! You cannot go wrong with Abigail's. It is so much more than a place to
stay. Thanks to the entire staff for making our stay so special!

I felt compelled to leave a review because the people at Abigail's went beyond
the call of duty to be helpful. The hotel is lovely, our room was cozy and
charming and the breakfast was delicious. - But beyond this, the service was
incomparable. My husband left his jacket and tie in the closet and he needed it
for a wedding the next day in Seattle. The staff (initiated by Megan) arranged
to have the items put on the ferry to Seattle in time for the wedding. Also, the
day we were leaving, a person from the hotel offered to drive us to the ferry as
he could see we were walking there with luggage. Very kind people and a
wonderful hotel!!!

After a long trip from the mid-west to Victoria, we found Abigail's to be a
delight. From the moment we arrived the staff was friendly, helpful and
professional, the facilities and grounds immaculate and the location excellent (
tucked away at the end of a side street but an easy walk to downtown). Breakfast
was fabulous as were the evening appetizers. Only complaint was the room was a
bit warm but the staff are working on solving the problem. We can't wait to go
back! We stayed at the Waldorf in NYC a week ago and we would go 10,000 times to
Abigail's over the Waldorf.

We stayed at Abigails, in the Coach House, for three nights and have little to
add to the many other excellent reviews, which are well deserved. It was very
comfortable indeed, the staff were all unfailingly helpful and very pleasant and
the breakfasts and evening hors d'oeuvres were delicious. It is very convenient
for downtown Victoria. Could not recommend it more highly.

The Abigail is a quiet and comfortable B&B. The staff was friendly and helpful
and the breakfasts were excellent.
It is several blocks from the waterfront, but not a bad walk to the shops and
dining. I would definitely stay here next time we are in Victoria. |
