Guest Review of the Marriott Hotel Victoria Inner Harbor

Stayed here for for the first time for two nights from Dec 14-16 and was very impressed by the hotel. It is fantastic for a Marriott and we got a great deal so we were very happy. The rooms are a decent size, the furniture is all new, the linens are high quality, and the beds are very comfortable!! They also have decent shower heads and quick hot water which is always a nice thing early in the morning. We did first get a two-bed room but they are only double beds and quite small so we chose a single King instead - definately do that if you are there as a couple! It's also in a great location... about a 4 minute walk to Imax/Museum/Legislature and also very close (walking) to everything else downtown.

I didn't get to eat at the on-site restaurant as there are so many dining options in Victoria but the menu looked good and the prices seemed reasonable for a good in-hotel food option. The hotel is also next to a great oyster bar if you get a craving for some of those. My only two issues with the hotel is that they charge for parking ($15 normal at most downtown places these days but Victoria still does have some hotels that don't charge) and the hot tub is set too high - you can't last very long in there before you're done! It is open until 11PM though which is a bonus compared to many other hotels.
I would definately stay there again if I got a similar price to this stay

I tend to stay here the most when visiting Victoria. The staff are always very pleasant and welcoming. From the check in to the concierge. Everyone is fantastic. i also really like the location , the hotel is tucked away but right in the center of things. The rooms are modern nice and spacious

We were a bit hesitant to book at the Marriott due to a few negative reviews, however, we decided to go ahead and we're glad we did.

First, the name is a bit misleading in that the hotel is not actually on the harbor. It is a block away behind the Empress Hotel. That wasn't a problem for us but some have expressed disappointment and feel the name is misleading.

We had a corner room on the 9th floor facing the Empress. We could glimpse a small patch of the harbor from our room and had a rather nice view of distant snow capped mountains as well. The room had a small balcony. We were concerned that the elevator was only about 15 feet from our door but in the four days we were there, we never heard it day or night.

We did not visit the hotel restaurant as there are so many restaurants within easy walking distance.

The hotel location is within easy walking distance of most attractions save for Butchart Gardens (which is accessible by bus at the kiosk in front of the Empress Hotel).

Don't miss the Orca (killer whale) watching tour! It was the high point of our trip.

Next time we visit Victoria we'll certainly stay at the Marriott again.

Room Tip: Reserve a balcony room with either a "harbor" view (you may or may not actually be able to see some of the harbor) or a city view. If you are interested in the concierge floor, inquire in advance about the concierge lounge hours of operation.

This is our second time staying at this hotel. The location was perfect because the popular attractions and shopping were all within walking distance. We stayed as a family with 3 little boys and it was nice to leave the car in the garage and just walk to the museum or along the harbour too! The rooms are so nicely appointed and the large floor to ceiling windows provided nice views of downtown. We stayed at a room with 2 double beds and there was still plenty of room for a twin roll-away, which was really nice! The front desk and staff are all so kind and wonderful. The first time we stayed, we ate Sunday Brunch at their restaurant and it was delicious. We always try to stay at Marriott because we know we could get great consistent service and amenities. This property definitely does not disappoint! The only downside is it does cost a lot per room. But what do you really expect for prime location in a popular city? Great stay all the way around.
