Review of the Abigails Bed Breakfast Hotel Victoria

Not great, not bad but OK. The room itself was tiny! We had a room in the coach house and it was so small that even with only the two of us, it felt a little claustrophobic. The bathroom was so small the door and the shutters in the bathroom could not be open at the same time. The service and staff was great but the breakfast, once again was just OK.

this by far is the most romantic hotel in Victoria! Beautifully decorated, and very quiet considering it is a small boutique type hotel. We had the 'honeymoon suite' and it was such a wonderful experience with a small fireplace and huge poster bed. The room was exquisitely decorated and kept to the age and style of the hotel. There is no dining for evening, but the 'cozy library ' downstairs is set up so that guests can linger and have a drink before setting off to enjoy many restaurants with walking distance. Later on one can come back and enjoy a brandy before heading up to the room. The breakfasts are complimentary and are full of fresh baked pastries, coffee, juices and a choice of a cooked breakfast.

My wife and I have stayed at a number of the top-rated B&Bs in Victoria, usually on or near St Charles St in the Rockland area. This was our first time at Abigail's and it moves right to the top of the list. The room was great -- although they do need to swap out some really ugly energy-saving light bulbs (which they say they're going to do), the breakfasts were superb, and the staff was incredibly helpful. But perhaps best of all is its location -- on an extremely quiet dead-end but right in the heart of downtown. Less than a 10 minute walk to the BC museum, to Government St, and to Fort St. No need to hassle with the downtown parking meters anymore!! That's huge. We'll be back next year Room Tip: It is a 3-story building with no elevator, so either be OK with climbing stairs or ask for a room on the lower floors.

If you are looking for a beautiful, quaint hotel that feels like an inn, Abigail's is the place in Victoria! Excellent, attentive service from everyone. The Foxglove suite is perfect! Breakfasts were delicious and creative. Great location too.

This is my favourite hotel. I am not keen on hotels but really enjoyed this one. Great room, breakfast was fabulous and the library was cozy and quiet. I do like the smallness of this place and of course the awesome breakfast. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Victoria. I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere.
