Premier’s Rose GardenWhile visiting the Parliament Buildings, you may be interested in observing debates in the Chamber when the House is sitting. The entrance to the public galleries is on the third floor of the building. Entry to the galleries is normally without reservation; however, seats are often full during Question Period (shortly after 1:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday), so plan to arrive early.

If you are in luck the grounds surrounding the Parliament buildings may be used for such events as band performances, or choirs in the Rotunda.

Photos at the Parliament Buildings in Victoria BC

Many photographers book sessions on the rear steps of the Legislative Library or in the Premier’s Rose Garden behind the East Annex for Weddings or special occasions. Many public events are held on the front lawns and driveways, although permission must be granted to use the grounds.

The front lawns are closed between October and April to prevent damage and overuse. Exact dates of closure and re-opening are determined each year pending weather conditions.
