I recently spent one night at the Mountainside and found it to be a great
experience. The location is fabulous, the facilities (beds, sitting areas,
patio) were excellent.
We stayed on the lower level and the room next to ours was empty so we did not
experience the problems some of the other people writing reviews did (noise from
neighbors).
The area where I think they need to improve is in the attention to detail
mentioned in some of the other reviews. We did have a hair dryer but it was not
visible (hidden under counter). We did have bathrobes which were clean but had
coffee stains on them.
I would definitely go back and have already recommended it to friends but they
definitely could take it to another level.Guest Review of the Mountainside Resort Victoria

We stayed here having never been to Victoria before. It was OK. We called the
place prior to booking and were told that it was close to downtown - it's not.
When we arrived we assumed the person there would have some information about
Victoria, she didn't even know the bus number that would take us downtown. We had a pretty good stay, I wouldn't stay there again
though. Its definitely not a resort, just a B&B with a killer view.

You will need a car it is located near the top of Mt. Tolmie—the city's highest
peak— the hotel is just over three miles from downtown Victoria. Set up like an
upscale B&B, Mountainside Luxury Resort Spa, our room had floor-to-ceiling
windows and a large private balconies with a great view of the ocean. We did not
take advantage of the Spa but our nights stay here was very relaxing. We enjoyed
the breakfast in the morning and the staff was very good. We will return here.
