"What Guests are saying about Chateau Victoria Hotel "

Having anticipated our trip to Victoria for three decades, it had to be good in every regard, right? But living on a fixed income, designer hotels are out of the question, hence the need to step down. I needn’t have worried. We were treated graciously and helpfully. The room wasn’t huge, but it was far from cramped. It didn’t have a view, but our line of sight wasn’t ugly, and we weren’t in the city to look out our window anyway! Granted, we carried our own bags (but traveling light, we expected to). No one turned down the bed covers. No one left mints on our pillows. And no one asked us to spend a hundred dollars more a night for the likes of those totally unnecessary touches. We’d rebook there in a heartbeat...and will the next time we find enough shekels to make a return visit. Now: ask me about two and a half hours and the service on a city tour (to go unnamed here) and I’ll not be writing so glowingly....

Good location!! We enjoyed our 3 nights stay. We had a 1 bedroom with 2 queen beds, it was clean, comfortable and the maid was very accommodating. The front desk staff were friendly and informative. Only complain was the service in the restaurant on the top floor (great view though), it was so slow both times when we were there. At our first visit we waited 15 minutes to get seated although there were plenty of tables available and we had a reservation, between salad and entrée we waited 30 minutes, finally we waited another 20 minutes for our bill. Our 2nd visit to the top floor restaurant was just for a cocktail (didn’t want to chance the dinner), we sat there for 15 minutes was like we were not there. Finally we moved to the bar so we can order directly from the bar tender. However the food was good there. Other than the restaurant service, would also like to suggest the hotel to clean up their hot tub by the pool.

Great hotel in Victoria. This was perfect for a family. Very affordable cost for lots of room. We had a 2 queen bed suite. This gave us a separate bedroom with one queen bed and then a queen bed in the main room. Main room also offered a sitting area with loveseat & chair plus writing desk with chair. At other end of room was small kitchen area with mini fridge, microwave, sink, kettle and coffee maker. Also small table with two chairs for eating. Bathroom was decent size, clean and provided with nice toiletries. Two TV’s provided one in main room one in bedroom with pay movies available. This hotel gave us the room we needed, space for the kids and an area for some adult separation. Great to be able to eat breakfast in the room especially with kids as well as keep snacks handy. Only a couple of blocks from the inner harbour. There is a fabulous view from the restaurant at the top of the hotel. Had breakfast at the restaurant, food was expensive and not great although my fussiest eater loved her pancakes! We will definitely stay here again as I think this is the best bang for your buck in Victoria!!

Stayed two nights at the Chateau Victoria as part of a Clipper package, and we were pleased with the room. Being part of a package, it was a good value for us, and it is within walking distance from the Harbor, even with luggage (although Clipper guests get a free shuttle to and from Harbor).
Located about two blocks from the inner Harbor and Government Street (where all the fun shops and pubs are). Worth noting that there is a restaurant on the 17th floor with a spectacular view of the city and Harbor, though it looked quite pricey. My wife and I didn't eat there but we did check out the view near closing time.

Stayed over the May long weekend, staff was super helpful and friendly. It is true the rooms are dated but they are well kept and the staff and location make up for it. Bonus they upgraded us to a suite at no extra cost. I would no hesitate to stay here again.

The hotel is located in the heart of the city, close to the bay and within easy walking distance to many local attractions. We flew into Sydney Airport and took the airport shuttle to the hotel about a 30 minute trip. The staff was warm and friendly and able to direct us to terrific pubs, restaurants and other local attractions. We had a Queen Suite which was very roomy, included a kitchen and small eating area. Our visit required us to check out late and the hotel allowed us to store our baggage and use the spa facilities to shower before our flight home. Victoria is a wonderful, beautiful city to visit in the Spring and the Chateau Victoria is a very nice accommodation to use for your base of operations. Great restaurant/bar on the 18th floor with excellent food!

We stayed at Chateau Victoria with a big group of soccer players and friends. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and make the trip work well for all. I especially appreciated the attention to quality of the food in the Vista 18 restaurant. I would choose this hotel on any return trip to Victoria.

We love to escape to Victoria for the weekend and this hotel meets all our needs. Free parking in the city is hard to find so the ability to park and walk everywhere is awesome. The hotel is located downtown and you can walk to the water, shopping, museum, parliament buildings, dinner, nightlife and many attractions in minutes. The staff are friendly and eager to please we have been told about many hidden treasures in the city and have had some great meals because of their suggestions. The suites are large, clean and well laid out some with wonderful views the beds are comfortable and the rooms we have had contain fridges and microwaves and wine glasses (nice touch). We had a tasty breakfast with an awesome view of the city in the Vista 18 restaurant and great service from a upbeat young lady in the lounge. Overall this place is great from the staff at the desk, the friendly maids who say Hi in the halls, the gentleman who drove us to dinner to the doorman with his endless restaurant suggestions Thanks for making our stay special.
