My wife and I have just returned from a 3-day mini
vacation in Victoria, BC. Whenever we visit there, we
always stay at this beautiful hotel, just a block from
the Inner Harbour. Being a block away means no traffic
noise; and yet, you're close enough to the action that
it's all within walking distance. The hotel's breakfast
area on the main floor has been completely renovated
since we were last there, making the complimentary
"Continental Breakfast" even more of a benefit. We've
earned enough points through Best Western's "Gold Crown
Club" that we're now enjoying the benefits (i.e. one or
more free nights).

Our family of 4 stayed here in the summer or 2010. We
found the hotel "last minute" and paid premium because
of location -- which is fantastic -- within walking
distance to most downtown Vic attractions (harbor,
museum, park, shopping, Empress, Parliament etc.)
The room was clean and the kitchenette had some nice
amenities, microwave, coffee, bottle opener, and fridge.
We stayed on the harbor side and from our small balcony
had a nice view of the pool.
Breakfast was OK, nothing fancy. The Dining Room is
SMALL and when the hotel is busy, this area gets
crowded. We have little ones in highchairs and was
difficult to maneuver between tables. The pool and pool
area are small but nicely kept.

Don't know what the PLUS is for, parking maybe? Be
careful if you have an SUV, the parking garage ceilings
are low and it is tight getting in and out. Lobby and
corridors could use a facelift and more light. Probably
will not stay here on our next visit to Vic...overall we
don’t think it was a good value for the money.

By way of a tradition each year now we go to Victoria in
early December and stay at the Best Western in a very
nice room over looking the inner harbour. The rooms have
recently be renovated, the beds are very comfortable and
having a small kitchen with a fridge, tea and coffee is
a big plus. Breakfast is included in the price and very
good value with a nice selection of food catering to
different diets.

Room Tip: If possible select a room with a balcony
on the north side of the hotel as there is an excellent
view of the harbour and plenty of activities to watch
from the comfort of your room |
