For a world-class city, Vancouver has a lot of crappy mid-price hotels.
I don't really understand why $150 buys you opulence and $80 buys you a
fleabag, especially given that few other cities have such a serious gap.
The Quality Hotel, aka "I used to be the Inn at False Creek", is kind of
the bridge between the two. The location sucks, in the middle of the
Granville Street Drunk Americans District, but its got 9 bazillion
translink stops nearby, it's a comfortable walk from downtown ....Reviews

We stayed here for 3 nights after finding a great rate on Allure Hotels.
The hotel is well situated and only a couple of blocks to some great
breakfast places, trendy restaurants and bars in Yaletown and the ferry
that we took to Granville Island. Though it's on the edge of the island,
it is still within walking distance to Robson and the downtown core.....Reviews

 The Quality Inn at False Creek went through major upgrade in 2007, making the
rooms newer and more modern. Rooms are a good size, the tiled bathrooms
have tubs and a shower, and the suites are great for families -- some have full
kitchens. The Inn has a nice outdoor pool and patio (open summer only). Quality Hotel Downtown Vancouver
