The Coast Surrey Guildford Hotel is very convenient to the 401 freeway and only
a few minute's drive to lots of restaurants and amenities. The ABC restaurant
onsite is good for a filling meal. Staff was very friendly (especially the
morning breakfast crew). We elected for a one bedroom junior suite with a queen
bed in the bedroom.
Good things:
- Free and fast Internet
- Small desk for working
- Small fridge and kitchenette area
- Very nice housecoats (love it)
- All you can eat breakfast including hot items such as eggs and bacon, and
waffles
- Very friendly staff (especially the breakfast crew)
- Curved shower rod to keep the shower curtain off your body (yeah)
- Bed was great and there was a variety of pillows of different height and
softness - kudos!
- there are lots of restaurants nearby. Just head up 104th Ave and left on
152nd.
Negatives
- The bedroom had no windows or even any ventilation, so we had to sleep with
the door open, and even then the circulation wasn't great. This kind of defeated
the purpose of having a separate bedroom from our son. When booking check to see
if the bedroom has any natural light or ventilation
- The water temperature in the shower was tepid, although there was lots of hot
water at the sinks. It was clearly set low to prevent scalding, but it was way
too low. This was reported to the front desk, who indicated it would be looked
in to.
- I would definitely stay here again, but only if the bedroom had a window or
other ventilation.

The Coast Surrey Guildford Hotel was converted from Ramada and it is seen in
everything. The lobby area was renovated and now looks good and fresh. The staff
was friendly. Other than that it is a typical 3-star hotel. Nothing to remember.
What I didn't like was adjoining doors between rooms. And the second thing is an
embarrassing breakfast area. You need to pass the restaurant first and enter
very small crowded and dirty room. They simply don't have enough seats to
accommodate all visitors and most likely you would end up sharing your table
with strangers. In my opinion, it is kind of disrespect to guests. Breakfast
itself was simple and very basic. I'd rate this hotel as 4th out of 9 I've
visited during my BC-Alberta tour (the dining room was the worst of all).

Priced right for the right location, friendly staff, breakfast included, handy
location close to Guilford Mall just off #1 highway,
quiet. Clean, friendly, handy to Hwy 1, we were really happy with our room. I
would definitely stay there again.

Pleasantly surprised at the quality & comfort. Service excellent., nice hot
breakfast included with stay. I booked for location close to my conference but
would choose this hotel again for its amenities.

We got the Premium King Suite on Expedia for a great deal. The bed was so
comfortable, with several pillows. Two flat screen TV's and a gas fireplace made
this very relaxing. The staff were very accommodating as we needed to switch to
a "dog friendly" room for the 3rd night.
While it was what not the same without the fireplace and extra room it was still
very adequate. Both rooms were very quiet and both came with microwave's and
small fridges. The exercise room was well stocked and the hot tub looked
inviting. The complimentary breakfast was better than average with a full time
girl keeping everything well stocked. We did not get a chance to eat at the ABC
Restaurant as they had limited hours for the holidays. |
