Hotel Review of the Holiday Inn Hotel Surrey East
Feb 18 2016
So, what to do after spending
almost half of the last 3 weeks
in a hotel? Stay in a local
hotel for a break. My wife and I
spent early Valentine's day at
this property. It's fairly close
to where we live. The hotel has
a lot going for it.
It is close to several amenities
in the Cloverdale area. Within a
few blocks you ave a newly
updated casino/racetrack, sports
complex, rec centre, large flea
market (Sundays) and the
Cloverdale Rodeo. It's at a
major intersection but road
noise was not a problem perhaps
because we were at the back.
Parking is plentiful and
surrounds the property. There
isn't much of a view but that's
not a selling point for this
Check in was fast and friendly.
We were upgraded to a suite
(307) and got there within 5
minutes of arriving. The room is
larger than my first apartment.
There's a kitchenette, living
room area and a separate
bedroom. The bathroom has dual
sinks and lots of room. It's
bright and everything works
properly. There is plenty of
room to stretch out and it would
be great for a family. Some have
reported wifi issues but I
connected easily and the signal
was strong and relatively fast.
The attached restaurant was a
pleasant surprise. The food and
service are above average if not
spectacular. Plenty of screens
to watch the game and a full bar
with large booths.
Like any other hotel, the place
isn't perfect. The furnishings
are showing a bit of age in
condition and appearance. The
room is large and almost looks
under furnished. The tv's are
fairly small and not placed well
for good viewing, particularly
in the bedroom. There is an
oddly placed chair in the
bedroom that can trip you up if
you're getting up in the dark.
You cannot black out the
bathroom because of a
streetlight so it may keep the
room lighter than what you like
even with the door closed.
The negatives are minor though
so I recommend this hotel as a
good choice in the South Surrey

It was great! The staff is super
friendly! The room was clean and
the restaurant attached was very
good. The wait staff was
wonderful and it was nice that
they remember us as we came to
eat there each night. Our
waiter, Jesse, was awesome. He
was friendly, remembered us, and
recommended good food choices.
He brought out our food right
away and checked on us often.
This place is a safe bet for you
to stay and eat!

Each night of our 3 night stay,
we ate in the bar dinner in the
bar area. Jesse remembered us
night to night, served us in a
timely manner and was always
pleasant working with us and
with other customers. He made
our visit to Canada exceptional
and made us feel welcome in the
community. Also, at breakfast
the server remembered us as well
and always served us with a
smile. Such a pleasant way to
spend time away from home. Thank
