Hotel Review of the Holiday Inn Express Suites Surrey

I went to the Lower Mainland for a Math competition with a group of students.
The HIE upgraded the adult rooms for free so that I could be near my students.
Our rooms were very nice and provided everything we needed to prepare for our
competition the next day. The front desk also helped us by printing maps and
helping us find a shuttle service to our competition. The free hot breakfast in
the morning was delicious and one of my students kept saying, "This is so good.
Why does this taste so good." I definitely would recommend the HIE Surrey to
anyone that needs to stay in Surrey. Hotel Review of the Holiday Inn Express Suites Surrey

No complaints. A good Hotel. Nothing fancy but it was clean - I have a HUGE
bedbug phobia so I thoroughly scope out a room when I check in. Usual
continental breakfast, nice staff. All in all a good stay.

Had family stay at this hotel and my daughter hosted my 65th birthday here and
everything was top notch. All my guests commented on what a nice place it was,
and I can't disagree. My family that traveled from out of town thoroughly
enjoyed the place, my grandchildren loved the pool and whirlpool, and the staff
were very friendly. I was most impressed with how spotless everything is.

My girlfriend and I stayed in a Jacuzzi suite for three nights in August 2010
and had a great time. The room was spotless and surprisingly quiet considering
it was facing the road.
Pros:
-the king-sized bed was very clean and comfortable, doesn't' t have the grungy
duvets that you see in other hotels.
-the bathroom was very nice with a large Jacuzzi and beautiful stand-up shower
-the air conditioning in the room was FANTASTIC
-the TV swivels so you can watch it in bed or in the living area (we ordered
pizza and it came in handy when we were eating dinner)
-the staff was very pleasant and accommodating
-very nice lobby
-I paid in advance and got great rates, especially when compared to Vancouver
hotels
-very nice furniture in our suite
Cons:
-if you plan on visiting Vancouver the traffic can be a nightmare, especially
during rush hour (there was alot of construction going on during our visit in
August 2010).
-low water pressure prevented our toilet from functioning properly during peak
periods
-the back of the parking lot appeared to be a hangout for the homeless (you may
want to park in the front of the lot like I did). Note: in all fairness the
hotel did have security that checked on the lot regularly
-the complimentary breakfast was pretty average and under stocked during our
visit.
Suggestions to the hotel:
-I always enjoy the plush robes that Delta hotels offer, they'd be a nice touch
in your Jacuzzi suites
-I had to go to the lobby to request champagne/wine glasses, I feel that they
should be standard in the room (our room only had paper cups, kind of an
Econolodge feel)
-consider upgrading to flat screen TV's
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return. The pros
definitely outway the cons and if you can put up with the traffic we strongly
recommend this hotel.
