Guest Reviews of the Wall Centre Hotel Vancouver Airport |

Booked this via Priceline (winning bid $88 for 1 night stay). Didn't know that
we had a $20 parking fee as there were no street parking available as they were
taken up. Wifi has a fee (about $10)unless you use the lobby one for free. The
location wasn't too close to anything in Richmond so you need to drive.
The rooms were very clean and quiet. The heavenly bed was a bit hard. The
refrigerator isn't cold; more like wine cooler. The indoor pool water was pretty
cold; the hot tub was luke warm so i didnt even go in it. The ambiance was nice
since it's all glass so you can soak up the sun rays :-)
We asked for a upgrade @ checkin as River Rock Hotel was the same price and they
gave us the VIP top floor with access to their lounge (free drinks and free wifi).
It was pretty nice up there. Also upon checkout, they were gracious and didn't
charge us the parking fee either :-).
We would come back but if River Rock was at the same price; i'd stay there since
their pool is much more child friendly w/ the slide and hottub which was hot.

Stayed here in the summer during training for work. I had a few other friends
and co-workers at the hotel as well. This hotel is amazing- very clean and newly
built. The bed and room were very comfortable and quiet. The best workout room I
have ever been in. Lots of parking, but there is an extra charge. Hot tub was
not working. The only problem that was distressing was the fact we asked for a
room with a fridge, which a staff member said they could accommodate. A
co-worker put her insulin in the would be fridge only to find the next morning
it had spoiled. This situation left us in a bit of a panic running to the
hospital for a prescription. Turns out these units are not actual Refrigerators,
but wine chillers of some kind. I feel the staff member simply told us what we
wanted to hear to get us out of the way for the next guest in line. Also
disturbing was the fact I had to stand in line to complain to the guest service
manager as the guest ahead of me had placed milk in this imitation fridge for
his child and it had spoiled. He was told the same story I was on check in. The
only consolation we were given was being able to place the new insulin in a
fridge at the front counter. Called the hotel after this incident and phone call
was never returned. We will not return to this hotel in the future.

I have now stayed at this hotel a few times and it is so nice when they
recognize that fact upon check in and welcome you back. the staff are really
attentive and make you feel at home. The room (721) was on the end of the hotel
so it literally had windows on three sides. Great to watch the planes coming and
going. the beds here are awesome; had a great night's sleep and there is also a
separate shower and tub in the bathroom - lovely and spacious

I've stayed here twice in the past year and while both stays were short (less
than 12 hours) I like the Westin Wall Centre a lot.
Things I like:
- Fast, friendly service from the front desk to housekeeping. Every request is
met with "certainly" and is dealt with very quickly.
- Clean, comfortable rooms. The newness really pays off for them and the
furnishings are well chose; the colours and textures are all soothing. It's not
designed to feel opulent but it feels well done.
- Large shower with sliding door. Doors that swing out in small bathrooms are
ridiculous - the Westin fixes this with a sliding shower door that also results
in a shower that's big enough for a football player.
- Secured parking in the evenings.
Things that I didn't like:
- Hard to get to. Because it's just off the 3 road bridge it's not the easiest
to access hotel (or, it's a bit awkward). The actual location is relatively
convenient if you are spending time in Richmond (the surrounding area is pretty
ugly though).
- The bathroom sink is poorly shaped resulting in a lot of excess splash and
poor usability.
- $20 for parking in an area where land is still cheap and plentiful seems a bit
tacky but it's the going rate for a 4 star hotel. It's next to a residential
apartment building and street parking is available if you're willing to walk a
block.
All in all, it's a nice hotel and worth a look for anyone looking for a
luxurious, friendly experience. Around the Richmond or South Vancouver area it's
hard to beat for quality.

We stayed at the Westin Wall not knowing what to expect. We found the room to be
great with lots of room, comfy beds with a great shower.
This is a newer hotel, very close to the airport (YVR) and the sky train to down
town. It is an area that is converting over from old car dealerships to condo’s
so you are not in the heart of Richmond but close to No 3 Road and Bridgeport
Road, both main shopping roads in this town. Need a car to access.
We used the fitness facility and pool which we found to be quite good with neat
views of the river and out to the airport.
We originally booked for two nights but ended up staying three quite happily.
