This was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at! The staff are friendly and very open, this was like a second home to me. After a long flight or road trip the best thing to do (If you're in town) is to stay at Sandman Signature, the elegant setting and sophisticated surrounding is exquisite and as well a family friendly environment, and if you're looking for a little dip in the pool and a 225 (feet) long slide! The food was pretty good at the hotels restaurant Cucumber Café with thier healthy eating moto I felt satisfied and had no regret upon the meal I had consumed within minutes! Overall this was one of the most magnificent hotels I have ever stayed at and would recommend it to all.

Stayed for 2 nights--December '09. We chose this hotel for proximity to the airport and the pool for the kids. Parking is free. All staff were friendly, and helpful. The manager was really nice and even offered to open the large waterslide early for the kids which is open from 4 p.m. to 9. There is a good sized outdoor pool for use in the summer as well. Excellent fitness facilities and indoor tennis courts. Rooms are regular size, comfortable beds and quiet. The hotel offers a shuttle until 12:45 a.m., but if you need a taxi, it is literally 5 min from the airport. We took the shuttle to the airport and from there hopped on the Canada Line (and skytrain) to downtown Vancouver for the Canucks hockey game which saved us the drive in traffic and parking costs. Shuttle driver was excellent in providing information about finding our way around. Web check-in available at the hotel lobby. We ate dinner at the Cucumber Cafe right beside the hotel which was fantastic. The food and service was perfect. We recommend this hotel for the overnight traveller or long stays with families.

We stayed at the hotel for one night as it was close to the airport and we were on our way to Victoria the next day. The room was very nice, clean and quiet, we were in the Columbia Tower. We didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment on the food. The front desk staff were nice and very helpful with ferry directions. Found the coffee gal unfriendly and she closed 10 minutes earlier than posted.
My only negative is that getting to the hotel is a real pain for us tourists. It is adjacent to a major roadway but if you miss the correct turn, which we did several times, you have to go a long way before you can turn around again. If you're driving get excellent, written directions to the hotel, which include the correct lane to be in for all turns! The hotel is actually in Richmond and not Vancouver which my local family told me is known to be very difficult to get around.

A friend and I stayed at the Sandman Signature only one night, on our way home from a cruise. We were both delighted with everything about the hotel. The young fellow at the front desk, while already kept hopping, went out of his way to help us check on our early morning flight the next day, and he even checked us in for the flight. The room was large, spotlessly clean, and the bed was sooooo comfortable. I just wish we could have stayed longer. The restaurant (the Chop) was excellent, if a tad pricey. And the shuttle was there right on time the next morning, to take us to the airport. I would definitely stay there again.

Shuttle pickup and drop off were on target, running every half half hour, 24/7. Staff was very courteous, no hassles with reservation through online travel website at all, didn't use restaurants, room was very clean and comfortable. Hard wired internet in room, with option to use wireless. All in all, very happy with the choice!

It was our first time in Vancouver so we didn't know what to expect. This property was great!!! Spotless - friendly - convenient. They have a complimentary shuttle that runs to the airport. We got off a cruise ship at 9:00 and they let us check into our hotel early that morning. And, this is the place where the pilots stay. That made me feel a lot better about it. A great experience especially if you want airport convenience.

This hotel has it all, everything you would expect from a top notch expensive hotel for a fraction of the price. It was a fantastic deal. The rooms were clean and plush. The beds were comfy. The whole atmosphere was engaging and beautiful. The amenities were great. We stayed there to go to the River Rock Resort and Casino for the evening and I would have rather stayed at the hotel than visit the casino. There is just so much to do in one small place. It was more than just a diamond in the rough and I already have reservations to take my husband there for a romantic getaway on his birthday. Service from the staff was incredible and the drinks in the on site restaurant were incredible (although the scantily-clad waitstaff did leave much to be desired). Overall the experience was fantastic and I would recommend this hotel to a friend knowing they would love it just the same.

The Sandman Resort was a surprisingly stylish and well appointed resort/hotel. The architecture and design were appealing and relaxing. Our room with balcony was again lovely and without issue. The associated Cucumber Cafe was tasty and pleasant. The proximity to the airport was important for us and most important. Had we a car it would have been better for sightseeing but that was not our purpose. For a very comfortable stay near the airport this is a very nice place.

We spent 4 days at the hotel while we had our photography get away weekend! Staff was 100%! The front desk was always prepared to help and always had a warm good morning smile or courteous friendly hello!! CHOPs Lounge staff very friendly and the gym room attendant was of all the same friendly nature!

But the most giggles and laughs was had at the coffee house in the lobby area. We had a blast speaking to the staff there and can't wait to go back just to giggle more! And the coffee was really good too!

The NASH gym was a great addition and if I lived in that area I would check it out for a regular spot. However, the gym in the hotel is not that bad either....the only thing I didn't like was the treadmill was at the entrance and I didn't feel comfortable running with everyone able to see the back side of me... just a personal preference... however I wouldn't have gone to the Nash Gym if the treadmill had been organized differently as it was sufficient for my needs.

We will return as the Mainland is a favorite spot for me and having lived in PoCo/Coq previously I find the Richmond area a place where I will be staying for further adventures and this will include return to the Signature Hotel !!

Thank you to all the staff there who made our trip 100% perfect!

We stayed for one night and were satisfied with our room. Had drinks and dessert in the rather flashy lounge. Breakfast at nearby Cucumber Cafe was not bad. Make sure to book at the Sandman Signature and not the older Sandman, which is nearby and looked dumpy. This is much nicer. We stayed in a high floor and the room was quiet. The only minus was that the light on our balcony could not be turned off, and some light shined through the curtains. Otherwise this was a good airport hotel for one night. Nice staff.

Really nice hotel, high standard. Food and rooms were spot on. Courtesy bus to the airport is mega appreciated. Hotel almost seems to good for the airport - if it was downtown it would be a cracker!

We stayed here at the tail end of our trip to Vancouver, because it was close to the airport, and because we decided to "splurge" on a luxury hotel for my birthday. We knew when we booked that the hotel was just re-opening after renovations, and that parts of it still were not reopened. Since we didn't care about the parts that were still closed, it did not make a difference to us.

The room was nice, with beds so tall you practically needed a step ladder to climb in! They were not quite as comfortable as the beds we'd had at the Holiday Inn in Metrotown prior to our stay at Sandman, though. (In fact, the Holiday Inn beat out the Sandman in pretty much every way possible, in terms of comfort, helpful staff, cost, etc.) The pool, as far as I'm aware, had not yet undergone renovations, but it was fairly nice. We stayed in the hot tub next to the pool, as the pool itself was overrun by kids and teens, even though it was fairly late in the evening.

One thing that surprised me about the hotel was that the high speed internet is wired only. I expected that a hotel that had just gone through renovations would have installed wireless, not wired only. I know that is not important to everyone - but it was to the two of us. My travel companion and I both needed to use the internet at the same time but we weren't able to because the wired internet only allowed one of us at a time to be online and we had to sit at an uncomfortable desk to do so. I did go down to the front desk to ask if there was a splitter & cables we could use so that both of us could be online at the same time, and was informed that no, it wasn't possible. The front desk clerk did suggest that one of us could "go down and sit in the lobby, to use the wireless signal from the business center." I did not find that to be an acceptable solution, as we wanted to relax on the beds in our room - not hang out in lobby just to be on the 'net.

Overall - it was a nice enough hotel, but it didn't seem worth the high price.

Beautiful hotel. I stayed here May 23, 2008 as I was leaving to Cancun, Mexico May 24, 2008 on a 8:00am flight.

We had originally booked at the regular Sandman Hotel right down the street from this one, but the guy at the front desk of the regular Sandman, Jeff, offered us a free upgrade to stay at the new Sandman Signature because the hotel had overbooked. We did not mind as the shuttle runs from the hotel to YVR at both Sandman's, plus it is considered a 4 star hotel compared to the regular Sandman which is about a 2 1/2 star.

We took a shuttle from one Sandman to the next, as we had luggage with us. It is only about 700m away so not too far of a walk. We checked in, everything was great. We were on the 15th floor, awesome view towards the ocean and the surrounding area. The rooms are quite nice, I really liked the styling in the bathroom, the black countertops and all.

The restaurant in this hotel had not opened yet as it was still under renovations. We decided to walk back to the other Sandman and eat at Moxies. We met up with some friends and got a ride back to the hotel. The staff was very friendly. We had to check out at 4:55am in order to catch the shuttle for 5am. Checking out was very easy.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Sandman Signature. The only two things that were a downside was that the restaurant was not complete and that the bottled water in the room is not complementary. I thought it was, and we were charged for one bottle of water.
Liked — That we were upgraded to this hotel!

We stayed at the Signature Sandman despite a lack of reviews for the hotel in late May 2008. We stayed for several days and found that, while the hotel was still undergoing renovations, the decor was great, the rooms were clean, and the staff were very accommodating. We needed something in Richmond and this was also conveniently located to the airport. We checked in late (almost 9pm) after our flight arrived a few hours behind schedule. The staff was excellent in getting us 2 rooms on the same floor and even moved a fridge up to my parent's room upon request. Though this is a non-smoking hotel, we found that for some reason, one of the rooms smelled like smoke and housekeeping was always prompt to take care of this. The hotel offered a free shuttle to the airport which we used a few times. One time when it did not arrive, the hotel paid for a taxi to go to the airport. There is a small gym and pool and hot tub for the hotel, but will likely not be big enough when the entire hotel finishes and opens up after all their renovations. There was no room service but we were close enough to lots of options to eat. A great idea is to check out the Richmond Nature Park nearby - it was really beautiful. We would definitely stay here again if we needed to be in Richmond or near the airport.

We stayed in Sandman Signature Hotel is because it is close to the airport. The hotel is big, bright, and nice. The room is big too with a small balcony, very clean. there is a outdoor swimming pool, we enjoyed the whole afternoon there. There is a cafe bar just 1 min. walk next to the hotel. The breakfast vouchers can be also used there for lunch (use as a 7CAD, a lunch is about 12CAD with drinks)
And the lunch was great there too.
The hotel offers shutter bus to the airport too. at the check in counter they helped us to organize the "pick up", so it is very convenient for us.
At the lobby, computers and internet are free. and everywhere in the hotel there is WL.
The location is not too close to the center if you would like to go shopping or dining out. But there is bus stop not that far away from the hotel.
