All the rooms are suites, which are a plus. Sophia the
event coordinator was impeccable!
The bartender told me that there was a time limit on how
many drinks I could have in one hour, non smoking was a
plus.
With the new renovations for the 2010 Olympics, there
were no places to eat breakfast-except the Food Court.
There on business and the convention room that is it's
own self contained area was nice with good service.
Additional service fee for the wireless connection but
paying once out of the 2 times we've been there is not
bad.
The place was okay, but I love Vancouver so being 15
minutes away from the city was awesome :) |

I truly believe the River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond
is the closest thing to Las Vegas B.C. has to offer.
Overlooking the Fraser River, River Rock offers a
plethora of slot machines, poker tourneys, and a
Racebook area for fans of horse racing, as well as other
amenities such as a delicious all-you-can-eat buffet
($20 a plate/person), tropical-style swimming pool ($10,
plus you can use the hot tub and gym), onsite Absolute
Spa (offering facials, massages, hydrotherapy, and
more), and the River Rock Show Theatre, which features
950 seats and some great live acts. |

Drove in. Let Valet do the car - free parking at 3 storey
parkade is a mid-walk back to hotel, albeit more close the the
extensive Casino. Also, Valet is better security and all other
take in baggage and services, do add up. Check-in on 2nd floor,
very efficient. Enjoyed a package deal that was much-more than
anticipated. Offerings change and without one, it is worth every
nickel. Room was a suite (all suites); the bedroom and bed most
fabulous & large, my girlfriend and I were able to sleep with
our nightly aerobics w/flashing arms w/o hitting one another. TV
in this room too. Comfy robes provided, lighted closets. Water
provided. Goblets. Glasses. Coffee/tea mugs and maker and in
room fridge to use (not stocked) & a "safe".
So well appointed, nice tall seating (I'm disabled hip down) yet
can walk a flat surface, chairs are high enough -my booster
pillow not needed - but even regular folk prefer the higher
seating. On request they provided the best raised toilet top
w/hand bars for me to use and even offered a fully disabled
room. We stayed with this one, on a view of the river. Very
nice. No convenience was missed. All amenities in lush bathroom
w/soaker tub & huge rain-shower. Electronic Keys Secure.
Splendid decor & furnishing - well appointed in art, paint
shade, carpet pattern and comfy to walk with detail in tiles to
drapery. The only fault is although good air-flow, a window
would not open, would be nice to have a 2" nature hole. However
River Rock is better than some we stayed at Whistler (for the
price maybe similar in outlay) -for the price RR is the deal of
the century. Free newspaper in the doorway.
Runway 26 The Buffet is the best for value and price and
offerings in the lower mainland. We go just for the buffet
throughout the year. Entertainment is name and TicketMaster.
LuLu's is a lounge in the Casino to dance and sit and enjoy or
listen to within the confines of the near Slots. The other
restaurant is higher class, view on pier and white linens yet
better prices than a food fair at the airport and food Very Good
and Breakfasts to bar-none terrific. Don't let the outside and
inside of this book deter you, the prices are average anywhere,
just you'll feel like you're in as a VIP. Internet and TV as
internet $12 for 24 hrs. w/keyboard on coffee table (if you
didn't bring your own); also business centres for free internet
at public sites.
Sound proof is excellent as planes depart and land at YVR over
just beside. Not a bother in the hotel or room. You won't hear
your neighbours or plumbing either.
Recommended for us that live here and for those that want
quality without spending a bundle. The YVR SkyTrain opens in
Sept '09 and will whisk one to DT Vancouver or vis vis, so one
will not have to pay the Vancouver price. It's a heck of a
feeling to say so many wonderful things about such an
accommodating hotel. Even the staff refused a tip. We'd have to
press them to accept, yet walk with us to the elevator, take the
luggage, get ice, 24hr services; action; sleep and calm - make
it what you want. A resort it is. Relax or Party. River Rock,
Rocks. Free parking too, if you're up to a small walk from the 3
storey parkade which we use when just doing the "casino".
Was fun to be a tourist in my own town and highly recommended to
all. |

No shuttle which would have been nice. Nice room with separate
bedroom for parents and pull out sofa for kids. Room service
limited for kids and pricey. Casino runs hotel in the sense you
have to walk right by it to check in. Once renovations done,
should be much better. Easy check in, clean room. Ate at fine
dining restaurant as adults - great food and location. Easy to
call cab in morning to airport. Once SkyTrain done - will be a
stop so really simple for air travel connections.

The room was comfortable for our family of four; nice t.v.,
great bed in the executive suite, comfortable space. We were
very disappointed to find that the mini-fridge did not get cold
and that one side of the building does not come with bath tubs.
The "green" factor was great and the kids loved the pool,
however we could not take them to the food court (located in the
casino). We found the buffet offering to be good but over
priced. |

Hotel staff was very accommodating. Despite renovation facility
was very presentable. Room was as advertised on web site and in
good condition. not the most convenient location due to all of
the construction taking place in Vancouver. |

The hotel was a very good deal, which made it a 4. It felt new,
too new in some cases since you felt like you were in a
construction zone. The staff was friendly and the pool area was
nice. We stayed there because of the pool and would go back for
the same reason.
The pool area is a kid saver and the property felt safe.
However, there’s little to do in that area off-property. You’ll
drive up into the core of Vancouver for Stanley Park, Yaletown,
and Granville Island. We went to Granville Island every day.
