I stayed at this hotel about a week ago while travelling to Mexico. I stayed
here as it was close to the airport and seemed like it was a good place for the
price. The hotel staff did the minimum as far as service goes. We asked to have
a taxi set up for the morning as we had to be on the road at 3:45 am. We asked
for a van as there would be 4 people with lugage. This was not a clear request
as a small hybrid was waiting for us and we hardly fit. The hotel its self was
very run down and a bit dingy. There were water damage marks on ceilings and
chipped tiles in the bathroom. There was a loud banging sound in the ceiling all
night ( like someone was doing construction) and we hardly slept. I guess this
place would be good in a pinch but would not stay there again if I could avoid
it.

Staff seems friendly. Quite responsive but not amazing. Cleanliness can be
better. Carpet looks dingy. Shower curtain needs changing. But overall ok.
Especially considering price. Very close to Richmond center. Very close to sky
train (brighouse). Both in walking distance. All in all quite acceptable.
Probably would come back considering good price. One problem is parking on
weekends. Underground parking lot can get full. However free parking and free
wifi. Breakfast has waffle and scrambled eggs which was nice. For the price
pretty good.

This hotel is a crown jewel in Richmond, BC. The location is convenient for
everything within walking distance - 1 km. The hotel offers hot breakfast and
shuttle to the airport with secure underground parking. The room is large enough
for two of us. The staffs were very friendly.
The last minute deal - during Remembrance Day weekend, was very good value to
the room we stayed in.

I am a self-employed professional and have been staying at this hotel for about
two years. As a professional person, I rely on effective Internet access and
communication. If you are a business person, this is not the hotel for you as
the Internet service is oftentimes sporadic and at times non-existent. When
staying here about a year ago I reported the problem to the hotels ISP and I
also reported the problem to hotel staff. I was advised that I needed to write a
message to the hotel through their web address BUT that I should also post a
message like this online because the manager (franchise owner?) responds to
posts like this but does not regularly respond to direct communication with the
hotel. Interestingly, after having had that exchange, I returned to the hotel
because I had lost a key during my last stay. When I approached the desk a guest
was on the telephone to Hotel's ISP with his computer in front of him trying to
get help to connect to the Internet. I could only laugh at the silliness of the
manager (franchise owner?) not paying attention to his guests frustration.
All-in-all, if your travelling and not relying on Internet service this is the
hotel for you. But, if you - like me - rely on reliable Internet access and
reliable communication via the Internet, be forewarned, this is not the hotel
for you. |
