When I checked into this hotel, the front person said they required a security
deposit, which was news to me. This was not advertised at all. In all of my
traveling experiences, I've never been asked for a security deposit.. so I asked
why this was necessary and the front person told me because I did not have a
credit card on file .
The room was small but adequately clean. I stay in Richmond quite often on my
trips to Vancouver and I tried Quality Hotel that time, but never again. There
are so many nicer, friendlier hotels in the area that you don't need to stay at
a hotel where they obviously have so many customers that they can afford to be
rude whenever someone has questions about their policy.
The fact that they are taking a security deposit makes me wonder what kind of
people they are expecting in their hotel...

The only thing good was it had under ground place to park with a gate. Other
than that it was just a place the lay down. When I would go to sleep I would put
the "do not disturb sign" out, this only made the cleaners call me from the next
room to see if they could clean the room????

First the con's-it is 50's style furniture, table/desk. There is a big box TV on
table which takes up most of the table. No dresser, no way to unpack. I set up
an ironing board to hold my suitcase open for the 3 nights we were there. The
room is very plain, small. If anyone is sitting at the table/desk, you are
unable to get around the bed. One other very tiny chair in room. There was a big
square white refrigerator on top of a 2 shelf table. Half the bathroom vanity is
taken up with a tray, coffee pot etc. leaving little vanity space. No micro.
Breakfast was very basic. Hard boiled eggs, toast, and toaster type waffles.
Area very small so in the busy time, it will be a problem. You are not permitted
to bring food back to your room.
The Pro's....great location, with good transportation and shopping. You would
never believe you are staying at an airport hotel. If you go down to the London
Drug store, you can get an all day pass for the bus system and the sky train.
The buss stops right in front of the hotel. You can take it to the mall, a 10
min. walk, or to the sky train, a 15 min. walk. I think we paid senior price
$7.00 so maybe it would be $9.00 for others. Across the street you can catch the
bus down to the Fishing Village which was a delightful stop.
The Sky Train is brand new, and this is the end of the line. You can take it all
the way into Vancouver and all the stops in between. A wonderful way to see the
city. It even stops right in front of the Casino. Right across the street is an
Irish Pub called Foggy Dew. We had a terrific Cheeseburger w/ french fry's for
$9.00 Can. money. It was extremely good for the money. Now I am sure they will
raise price's for the 2010 Olympics'! But all in all, I would stay here again
for the convenience. The Mall is huge. We did not shop there except to pick of
soft drinks. But it looked like a nice place to spend an evening. We left here
for Whistler, and then came back to the Hampton Inn for our last night before
our flight. We had to stay at the Hampton due to the fact we needed to leave for
the airport at 4:30 am. They had a shuttle at that time. What a waste of money.
It cost us $150.00 for a room smaller and we never got the breakfast to go bag
they promised us the night before. We were too worried about trying to get a cab
since they were closing off the street where the Quality Hotel was, so we had to
stay at the Hampton. There was nothing, nothing in the area. If you are going to
be there for any length of time, stay closer to the sky train. Marriot is there
and I think Hilton. Radisson also is right next door. |

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights . Must say, the hotel was one of the best
I've ever stayed at for the money I paid. For $85 per night, we stayed in the
hotel for 3 nights and the hotel allowed us to keep our car in the garage as we
had to spend one night with the tour group in Victoria.
They even gave us an extra "bed on wheels" to accommodate an extra visitor for
$25. Excellent service, excellent clean hotel, and I would definitely consider
going to this hotel again next time I visit Vancouver. |

The price was great, and was fine for staying a few nights. Not much
breakfast selection, and awkward pillows. For the price range and
location, the hotel was great. Even if the view wasn't the best, or the
facilities/food, that didn't matter since the main attraction is the
city of Vancouver, not the hotel. Its not a place to stay all day, but
with Vancouver so easy to get to, its a great place for the nighttime. |

I stayed for one night I parked my car for free in their
underground parking garage it is less than 10 min walk to Richmond
Center, a large indoor shopping mall. The room and bathroom were clean.
The continental breakfast to my surprise had all kind of choices which
provides a full breakfast which was included in the price. At the desk
they were courteous and professional. I have no complaints at all and
would stay there again if I could get tickets for next year's Olympic
speed skating events. |

The breakfast was depressing. 3 types of bread which is ok, boiled eggs
style Chernobyl, 3 spreads to choose from, and cereal. No cold cuts, no
soft boiled eggs, no possibilities beyond strawberry-jam, peanut-butter
and honey. Oh, Monday morning they add orange-marmalade. Staff was
super! +++ |

The elevator was annoying and inconvenient to use: you had to use a key
card. This hotel was OK overall. My room was clean and nicely furnished.
Minor problems as follows: Nuisance with stairs and elevator: Elevator
will not work without swiping your hotel room key card. Elevator is
sluggish and slow due to stairs. They should tell guests about this at
check-in, as many complained in elevator about this minor nuisance. You
cannot use the stairs to go to your room! Only elevator, which is slow.
Walls between rooms not noise-proofed: I had to listen to a couple
arguing very loudly in Chinese for several hours late at night in next
room; I finally had to use ear plugs to get some sleep after 12:00 am. |

Very clean and staff is very efficient. Breakfast was ample and
convenient. Secure parking and close to shopping and airport. Very good
value for the price. It was hard to find due to not enough signage and
the only sign they had was covered by a large tree |

Friendly Staffs and Convenient location to great Richmond Asian Food and
Shopping. We arrived late at night and had to get up early in the
morning to catch a connecting flight and the gentleman at the desk was
very helpful. |

I had a nice clean room, overlooking the park and the staff was really friendly.
I would definitely go back. Well worth it. The park in the back is super nice,
if you like to jog, make sure you go to that park!!! |

The hotel is nice and clean but it is under-staffed. There was a mandatory $150
deposit before checking into the room for any potential damages the guest caused
(i.e. smoking). The hotel has a 11 p.m. no-visitor rule which didn’t bother us.
Magnetic scan card was a hassle to get to each floor using the elevator. When we
checked into the roof, there were no bath towels, and we were told "you have to
come down and get them." The breakfast was ok, and the manager was personable to
talk to. |

It was an okay stay there!
The hotel was quiet nice and the location great. Close to the airport and close
to stores and restaurants. Unfortunately we had a room besides the street and we
woke up too early because of the traffic noise. The rooms with look over a park
in the back would have been nicer. We booked in with my family and had more the
one room at different levels of the hotel and we were not able to get from the
3rd floor to the forth floor because of security reasons. With your room key you
can just go to your room and down to the lobby. We felt like in Fort Knox
because going to my parents room was not possible unless we met in the lobby or
got one of their room keys. That being said, it is a very safe place to stay and
the breakfast was okay. Just in the main morning time not enough tables for all
people, you might have to wait to get a seat. So if you just want to stay there
for a short time, the hotel is clean and the service is friendly.
Traveller's tip on dining
There is a nice greek restaurant besides the hotel, very nice, and an Irish pub
across the street. But more restaurants are down the street and just a 10
minutes walk away.

The hotel was very nice and a good bargain. However they placed a $150 deposit
on your credit card when you got there for security. I was a little uneasy about
that because I didnt know what they would consider using it for. Other then that
good breakfast in the morning and clean room. |

Travelling with teens on college tour trip. Rooms were spacious and quiet. Great
to open windows and look out on Minoru Park. Next to Richmond Centre. Made early
morning getaway back to the U.S. side of the border painless. Continental b’fast
included hard boiled eggs, toaster waffles, cereals, moist (that’s a good thing)
breakfast breads. |
